The School Fund is a clearing house for organizations working to improve education in the developing world. Together with our network of partners, we are enabling students around the globe to attend school.

The School Fund is becoming a clearing house for NGOs addressing educational inequality, thereby offering partners the transparency and communication of our platform. Student Scholarship Partners are organizations that fundraise for students' school fees, have existing ties to communities, and have a systematic process for identifying qualified students.

The Condor Trust for Education

About the Organization: The Condor Trust for Education is based in Quito, Ecuador, and provides scholarships to children for both secondary and post-secondary education. They work with hardworking, driven students from “low or no income” families in poorer regions of Quito, or towns in the surrounding mountains. Their model places heavy emphasis on recognizing students as whole people with unique opportunities, challenges, aspirations, and lives, and sees parent or guardian involvement where possible as key to the success of students they work with.

About the Partnership: Condor Trust and The School Fund are partnering to support university students who hope to be their country’s future leaders, with careers including engineers, business owners, nurses, and computer scientists. The scholarships with The School Fund cover partial costs of annual tuition, and the Condor Trust works to supplement this scholarship with support from other means.

About the Organization: Create Change Foundation is a Vancouver based non-profit organization which implements grass-roots projects that bring basic needs such as clean water and education to those living without. Since Create Change’s Ghana Girls’ Education Program was initiated in 2007, it has witnessed change in the lives of almost 800 girls in Northern Ghana who have a dream of getting an education so they can pull themselves out of poverty.

About the Partnership: Create Change Foundation and The School Fund are partnering to provide scholarships to secondary school students in Ghana. Every October, hundreds of students who have gained admission to high school line up outside Create Change’s office in Ghana in hopes of receiving support through the provision of school fees and supplies. After an extensive interview process with the girls and their families, scholarship recipients receive school fees and school supplies according to each girls’ individual needs. Create Change field staff also visit girls on a monthly basis in order to address both personal and academic problems they may be facing. Their report cards are also reviewed at the end of every academic term, to ensure girls are receiving the support they need to achieve their full potential.

The teachers are mentors who build powerful relationships that give youth confidence to lead change. KnowledgeBeat provides educational oppotunities to students through summer camps. The camps take children out of their home environment and away from everyday challenges. This short but intensive period yields a transformative and lasting change in the way students think and make decisions.
