About

Nasiru writes: My father and mother are both peasant farmers who cultivate cassava and maize in domestic quantities to help feed and pay for some stuff for the family. Because the farming alone is not enough to support the family, my mother cooks and sells a local food called Wakye to help take care of things in the family. However the farming and selling of Wakye have not been a reliable source of funding the education of my siblings and I. My big brother had to drop out of school for a year because my parents could not pay his school fees. When they finally struggled to get the fees for him to go back to school, he was repeated whiles his mates were promoted to the next grade. The possibility of me dropping out of school is very high because of my family's financial status. I don't want to drop out of school, so please help me to go to school to the university level to be able to become the teacher and footballer that I want to become, so I can help other poor people like me."

Hi Nasiru! I am so happy that i have given the project the final amount you need to go to school! I found this project through Jack and Finn Harries. I was surprised to know that your schooling isn't funded like it is where I live in the United States. I can not imagine what it would be like to not have the opportunity to receive an education. Although I do not know you, I am so proud of you for wanting more for yourself! Every one deserves a fair chance to succeed, and it is terrible that only a small percentage of those people get the chance they deserve. You should be proud of yourself for working hard to do what you love! I saw in your profile that you enjoy playing soccer(football). Soccer is not as big in America as it is in other countries, but I love watching it. All the players move with amazing precision and grace. How long have you been playing? I also found it interesting that you wanted to teach because I have always wanted to teach people too. I also enjoy writing and hope to become an author. I don't play sports very seriously like you do, but I do play for my high school field hockey team and I love the game. A little more about me is that I am a girl going into 10th grade at a private high school and I love traveling and exploring. Okay, I guess I should end this now:) Congratulations on making it this far and I hope you have great success in your future!!

Sincerely,
Tyler Crews
