The younger sister of John Medo, The School Fund's first student, "Judy," also has big dreams but is held back by her family's financial situation. Judy looks up to her older brother who has dedicated himself to his school work. Judy, too, knows how important it is to study hard to achieve a successful future. She hopes to one day become a teacher so she can improve the lives and minds of students just like herself. Judy says: "Education will help me to overcome my problems and have a good future living."
School Year 2013
I would like to tell you about my past and how when I would go to school I walked with my supplies in my hands or in plastic bags. I felt very happy when I was gifted something that I often worried about having because for my parents it was really hard to find money for my supplies. They were married in 2006 and are a couple very happy with their children. And presently, I'm so happy to be studying in this program. It's so nice to study and be able to move ahead and I feel very proud that my parents and the community are supporting our class so much. They have put forth a great effort so we can have a good future. I know that by studying I can help my family in the future.

Before living at school, Amina lived with her mother, who has a small farm. Amina's mother uses a hand-hoe to cultivate on her farm, which does not allow her to produce enough crops to sell. After Amina's father died in 2002, Amina's mother could not provide for her, causing Amina to live school instead of at home.
