About

Mary's mother, who was her only parent, passed away in 2004 when Mary was still young. Since her mother's death, Mary has been staying with her her grandparents. Her grandfather is not employed and her grandmother is has weak legs, making her unable to work. Mary's grandfather, who is also not strong enough to work long hours, does casual work to help the family meet their basic needs and to attempt to pay Mary's school fees, though the little that he earns is not enough. Mary is a very hard working girl who strives to excel in life.
