About

Purity is the first in her class. Despite the financial constraints that her family faces, Purity believes that her determination will allow her to remain a shining star in class. Purity is the second born in a family of four. Two of her other siblings are out of school and her younger sister is in grade seven at Chayamiti Primary School. Both parents are unemployed and they depend on subsistence farming for survival. The household rarely earns more than a monthly income of $10, which is not even enough to buy basic food items. At times Purity is barred from classes, as she is sent away to get money for her fees. Despite all these challenges, Purity always excels in class and she is confident that she will be able to study nursing after her graduation.

Hi Purity!

My name is Michael and I work with The School Fund. I noticed that you haven't journaled in a few months, so I just wanted to see how you are doing and introduce myself. I'm a university student in America and I live in a state called Connecticut. How is everything with you? How is school? I'm sure you are working hard, and I hope you are doing well!

Best,

Michael
