Adeline loves to be silly, make funny faces, and just make others laugh. This stands as a big contrast to her dark days of begging on the streets of Port-au-Prince. Today she is finally able to be a kid and not worry about her personal survival nor providing for her family. Adeline loves Jesus and is thankful for all He has done for her. She enjoys playing soccer and learning new skills from those willing to teach her. She is a genuine competitor and is clearly one of the best soccer players at the girls' home. She also now has a part-time job working as a cook at our guest house once a week. Please pray for Adeline, that the Lord will continue to heal her heart and fill her with His life, love, and grace.

David is continually smiling and will be the first to give you a hug. He came from a family with two mothers, six sisters, and four brothers. Before his cousin brought him to Maison de Lumiere, David says he was a vagabond, wandering around on the streets of Port-au-Prince. He is a very loving child and quite a talker who understands and speaks English very well. David is quite inquisitive and whether cleaning out the office or setting up a game, he will be right there to help out. While he loves to listen and learn new things, he loves to learn the Bible and he never misses Bible studies and discipleship classes. Please pray that David's love for Jesus and God's Word continues to grow.

Diene came to us with his brother Ti-Bo from a very poor family who lived in the countryside. His father, a poor itinerant farmer, had recently lost his wife and was left to care for nine children. The meager living he made growing corn on borrowed land could not support his large family so he brought his ill and malnourished sons to our home out of desperation. Since coming to Maison de Lumiere, Diene and his brother are thriving and are very healthy. Diene has a good sense of humor and energetic personality, which makes him very popular at the boys' home. He enjoys dancing and skateboarding with the other boys and is also very involved in the baking program at our transition program, making treats to sell at a local school. Please pray for Diene as he grows into a man of God.
