Milaan Foundation envisions an inclusive and equal world where every girl has the knowledge, skills and social environment to pursue her dreams and explore her full potential. Over the last 12 years, Milaan has worked with more than 35,000 children and young people and advocated for safer and more inclusive spaces for them at various state and national platforms. The Milaan School specifically serves low income and lower cast families in a rural community in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Prabhudayal is a fun loving kid. He has 6 siblings in his house and someday hopes to become a teacher.

When asked what she aspires to be, Ram Lali after thinking for a while says she wants to learn tailoring. Her aspiration is not to be a doctor or an engineer or a teacher. Her dream is very simple - to start a tailoring shop of her own. If she learns tailoring she says other people will come to her for tailoring needs, thus helping her earn money to support her family. Ram Lali is a very shy and soft spoken girl. Her father digs canals and her mother is a home maker. She is the second eldest amongst the four children. Her sister, who is the eldest, is married and her other siblings attend a Government run school. Having discontinued her education due to financial reasons, Ram Lali now regularly attends here classes. She has a love for badminton and Sanskrit. She enjoys coming to school as she gets to learn new things and can meet her friends. With a very simple dream to achieve, no one really knows what the future holds for Ram Lali. But she is happy, happy that her parents registered her for the Swabhiman program - an opportunity for her to continue her education.

Hello, I am Nidhi and I enjoy coming to school. I am lucky that my parents support me in my studies. My hobbies are playing cricket, football and listening music. Someday I want to be a tailor.

Sonam is studying in class 7 under Swabhiman program at Swarachna Learning and Resource Center. She is an active girl. She participates in every activity especially performance competitions. She likes dancing. She participated in Baal Kalakar cultural event. And she performed dance. Her aspiration is to be a dancer.

Radhika enjoys studying and loves her Hindi classes. She does very well on exams and wants to become a teacher someday. In her family, she is the third born in a family of three siblings. Her father is a father and mother is a home maker.

Roopa is a bright student. She attained 182 marks out 250 in her half yearly exam. She got first ranked in her class. Apart from studies she likes to cook food. In her free time she plays with her friends. Her aspiration is to become a teacher. In her family her father is no more. So she lives with her uncle. Her uncle is a farmer. Her mother is a home maker. She does only domestic farming. She can't afford Roopa's school fees. She has a younger brother. Her brother is student of class 6 at SLRC. Roopa wants to finish her higher studies first. Then she wants to economically independent.
