About

Yasini is a student at Lugalo Secondary School graduating in 2011. He lives in Lugalo with his mother, father, two sisters, and one brother. Of his mother, Yasini says that she is the driving force that keeps him working hard in school. He is the first generation in the family to be able to get an education, so Yasini feels that he can never let his family down. He and his best friend Shangwe have been inseparable all through their schooling. They both drive each other to become doctors. Yasini knows that once he can support himself, he will continue TSF's mission to provide education opportunities for every child in Tanzania.

Hellow Mr Connor! Is my hope that your fine and me too am fine and i continue well with my activities like now inTanzania is the time for cultivation of maize and other crops,so in this hollyday we help our parents to cultivate. And i want to say thanks for telling that TSF do not allow to exchange the information through other emails or facebook although i wanted to use facebook to get more information about how people they live in other countries.
Hello Yasini and Melanie,

It's great to hear this discussion of Nelson Mandela. One of my favorite quotes from him is "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

I also wanted to add quick note that it's TSF policy not to permit exchanging any personal contact information like email addresses, mailing addresses or Facebook profile information over journals. Sorry!

Best,
Connor
Hello Yasini,
We , too, here inAmerica are mourning MR. Mandela. He was truly a great man. His spirit will hopefully live on and continue to inspire others to courageous and forgiving.
Take care.
Hi Yasini, we are remembering Nelson Mandela way over here in New Zealand. Our main museum was lit up in the South African flag colours overnight.
Hellow how is it!my hope that all your well to day but to all who are not well sory for them and i pray for them to oky.My intetion to day i want to tell you what is goin on in Tanzania and Africa at all.I think many of them you know well Mr Nelson Mandela who were fighting for Blacks right in South Afrika. He was a very couragous leader in Afrika but on 5th December at 8pm he passed away so now in Tanzania and Africa at all we are in great sympath about that.
Hi to all ma people.my hope that your doing well in you activities.I tried to attach the photo to show where our school present.
Hi Yasini, you"ll have to send your messages again. They didnt come through on site.
Hi Yasin, how are you going at school? Are your school fees paid?
Hi Christi hope your fine.On my side am fine too and i continue with ma preparation for going to school. Our school will open on Monday so i have to go either tomorrow or on Sunday.Am very happy to see you again on my email because its a long time when you write to me.On the last month we had meet with Matt and other friends from California as i say at last time. When we meet with them we had done many things like sports and other exercise. We enjoyed much to meet with them but in the other hand we were unhappy because we do not see you.At Tanzania now the condition is very cold almost all the time.I had tell Matt that now we need the money for form six.
Hi Yasini,
I hope all is well with you! I am happy you were able to see Matt and the other friends from America. What did you do together?

I live in Boston, about 3000 miles from California, and the weather here is almost always bad: too hot or too cold. But in California, the weather is very nice for most of the year. I like the weather in Tanzania, because even in the winter it doesn't get too cold.

Good luck in school this term! I hope you have a nice break.

All the best,
Christi
Hi Andrew, how about California. For Tanzania the condition is very nice instead of having coldness. Now in Tanzania you may see many people they wear prover in all the time due to the coldness. For this time am coming from tuition where am studying English language.Give hi to all the people of California.
Hi!Melanie Am happy to see that your writing on me.Am at Iringa now with Mr Matt and other people from American. Also am very happy to meet with them because we are changing the ideas with us.Is true that from Africa to New Zealand its very far away so to come in Africa is very difficult but i think if God wish we will meet one day.I say thanks for taking your time to write on me.
Hi Yasini
That's great you passed. You worked hard and you got yourself over the line, just keep it up. I would love to travel to Tanzania. I come from New Zealand and if you look on the map, it's way over in Oceania, practically in the middle of nowhere. It means its very expensive to travel past Asia for most people and as a consequence a trip to Europe or Africa is a once in a lifetime thing for most people here. I hope to make it someday.
Hi Andrew and Malaine,i think now is a summer season at California. In Tanzania this season is very cold, how about California and what activities taking place in this season? If you get a holly day please welcome to visit at Tanzania you will enjoy to see many animal in our Parks like Lions,Elephants,Leopard,Hyna and others.
Hi to all,am at Iringa for the annual holly day.In this holly day i meet with a many friends especial Shangwe who we discus a lot about the holly day and what is going on in Tosa maganga where he study. Also we had discus that if we will have enough money we will go to Ruaha National Park.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
