Tunu is one of four children (she has two older brothers and one older sister). She lives with her mother who sells clothing to support her family. Neither her mother nor any of her siblings attended secondary school. Tunu walks 30 minutes to school everyday.

Tunu hopes to become a lawyer and acknowledges that a good education will bring her closer to becoming one. Tunu lives with her two brothers and mother and goes to a river to get water.
