Vaati dreams of becoming a doctor in future because he wants to help the less privileged like his father to access medical services. Covid-19 pandemic was a blessing in a disguise for Vaati. When schools were closed indefinitely, he used to wake up early in the morning to study and revise. He also attended the online classes. He utilized the opportunity well knowing that every cloud has a silver lining and emerged as the best student in his school. He enjoys playing football. Knowing his purpose in school was his secret advantage.

JOIN HEREPurity comes from a family of six siblings; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is the fifth born child in her family. She lives with her parents who do casual jobs to cater for the family needs. Her elder siblings dropped out of school due to lack of school fees. Despite the challenges that she faced, her dream of becoming a doctor to treat her ailing mother, who always complains of severe headaches and pneumonia, has not shattered. Purity hopes that one day she will get her family from the shackles of poverty that they are in and she believes that where there is a will there's a way.

Muthini is the third born in a family of six. Her father is a drunkard and abusive and has neglected the family leaving the mother the only sole bread winner. She currently does casual jobs and the burden of taking care of the large family has overwhelmed her. Muthini is very determined and aggressive to achieve her dreams and become a doctor in future. Doing thorough revision and consulting with her teachers earned her a trump card. She likes reading storybooks and believes that hard work pays and never goes unrewarded. Muthini loves reading storybooks.

Emmaculate is the last born in a family of three; one sister and one brother. Her parents rely on subsistence farming for livelihood, which has been greatly affected by the changing climate. While in primary school, Emmaculate spent most of the time at home while the other students were at school. This was because of lack of finances to cater for some of the requirements at school. This did not stop her but instead propelled her towards achieving her dream of becoming a cardiologist in order to save lives. Her role model is Barack Obama and she likes his phrase of ‘Yes we can’. Moreover, she likes reading story books during her free time.

Agnes is an outgoing girl who completed her primary education and passed very well. She is the first born child with two young brothers and one sister. Her mother is a single mom. She is self-employed as a tailor and her earnings are not sufficient to pay her daughter’s secondary school fees. The family lives in a rented single room. Agnes believes that hard work pays and desires to work hard to uplift her family from poverty and also help the aged as well children who come from poor backgrounds. She aspires to be a doctor to treat sick people from all over the world. Her hobby is reading story books.

Purity enjoys reading. She was Kenya Connect 2020 queen reader having read 264 books in a span of three months. She aspires to be a lawyer to help fight injustices in the country. She strongly believes that hard work never goes unrewarded

Charles is an orphaned boy who is determined and hardworking. His single mother passed on in 2009, leaving him under the care of his aged grandparents. He is the only child in his family. Charles did his national exam and emerged to be the best student in his class! His elderly grandparents are not in a position to cater for his secondary school fees since they have no source of income. Charles has always chased his dream of becoming a nurse and he believes that once you choose hope, anything is possible. He is a fan of playing football during his leisure time.
