JOIN HEREChristine is the firstborn in a family of two. Her mother is a single parent and the sole breadwinner of the family. Christine completed her primary education in 2020 and was unable to join secondary school due to lack of school fees. She decided to repeat grade eight with great hopes of doing much better. And joining high school. Despite the challenges, she emerged the best student in her school. She aspires to be a neurosurgeon so she could save the lives of many. Christine believes that winners never quit and quitters never win. She loves reading and telling stories

Grace is the third born in a family of four. Her mother abandoned her with her aged father and went with her three siblings. Her father has been supporting her through doing casual jobs but his old age and ailment has made it difficult for him to provide for the family. Grace has been receiving support from her teachers who have gone the extra mile to cater for her needs and school levies. Every evening Grace has to cook for the family and do the house chores. Her only time to study was late at night. Despite all those obstacles, Grace performed exemplary. She aspires to be a journalist in future and she believes in striving to be self-reliant. Grace likes reading storybooks.

Milena was born in Santo Domingo de los Colorados, but the family moved to Quito shortly afterwards. She is the youngest member of the family. She likes studying and has found it difficult not having face-to-face lessons during the pandemic. She has particularly missed the dance classes and presentations wearing traditional Ecuadorian dress, which the school organised.

Faith is the last-born child in a family of three. She did her final primary school exam in 2018 and passed well but she could not proceed to high school due to lack of school fees. She however did not give up in life. She decided to repeat grade eight with hope that her mother would take her to school. Due to extreme poverty her elder siblings never went to high school. Her father is a drunkard and abusive. With the little income from casual jobs, her mother has managed to cater for the family’s basic needs. With all these many challenges, Faith has remained focused. She dreams to be a renowned lawyer in future to litigate on matters concerning the poor and especially the girl child. To her determination knows no barriers.

Clarice, was born in the city of Beira in, 2008, residing in the Macurungo area. She is an orphan of her father who died in 2015 and has one sister. Clarice, is a well-behaved and healthy girl. In the academic year 2021 she was satisfactory approved to grade 9. Her preferred discipline is Portuguese. In the academic year 2022, she attends 9th grade. For the family's sustainability, her mother sells fish in the Macurungo market, but with what she earns she cannot support the children's schooling. The house where the family lives, has 1 bedroom and 1 living room, has piped drinking water and low-cost energy, with an outside bathroom, made of bags.

Raymond is the firstborn in a family of two. He lives with his mother and grandparents. He has been raised by a single parent, his mother. His mother has been supporting the family through casual jobs. Raymond dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon in future because he wants to help people with mental problems. Also, there are few neurosurgeons in the country. He is very outgoing and enjoys drawing to improve his skills. Despite the challenges he faced, he believed in hard work and emerged as the best student in his school. For sure, hard work never goes unrewarded.

Elim is from the community of Llanchu, above Calca, in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Elim hopes to study Hotel Administration at a post-secondary institute in Cusco, and to one day become a role-model in her community and employ graduates from the Mosqoy Youth Program. She also wishes to use the knowledge and tools she gains to support her mother, who makes beautiful textiles. Elim is currently working hard to pass the entrance exams, as she is facing a lot of competition from her fellow peers, as well as classmates who had better access to high-school education. We are supporting her at every step of the way and providing her with preparatory academies and tutors.
