Fedelis is the last-born child in a family of three. He first sat for his primary education exam in 2018 and passed very well. His father could not afford to take him to secondary school and therefore he decided to repeat grade eight with the hope of getting a scholarship to pursue his goal. Fedelis attributes his success to his discipline and cooperation with teachers. He remains focused to achieve his goal of becoming an engineer in future to help his community. He believes that hard work never goes unrewarded.

JOIN HEREFelix is a third born in a family of six children. His parents abandoned the family leaving the burden of bringing up the family to their aged grandmother who is ailing and can't work. Felix could sometimes miss school and perform casual work to cater for food. Food has always been inadequate in their family. They get help from well-wishers. Due to lack of source of light at night, Felix used to study at night at neighbors' homestead. He accredits his success to being obedient, God fearing and consulting the teachers. He is very determined to become a teacher to teach students and help the community. He enjoys playing football. He believes that he will never die until he dies.

Agustin is from Cancha Cancha, a rural community that is home to only about 25 families, sitting at 4000 metres above sea level. To complete high-school, Agustin would walk three hours one way from his community, every day, climbing up and down a mountain, completing his homework en route. He is one of eight siblings in a Quechua-speaking one-bedroom household. Because of Mosqoy’s support and Agustin’s top-of-class status, he will be studying Tourism at CENFOTUR in Cusco - the most prestigious tourism institute in Cusco, accredited across the nation! Agustin wishes to set an example for his siblings and the other youth in his community, and to prove to himself that - despite the adversity that comes your way, and the few back steps you may have to do, “Yes, you can.”

Muthini is the third born in a family of six. Her father is a drunkard and abusive and has neglected the family leaving the mother the only sole bread winner. She currently does casual jobs and the burden of taking care of the large family has overwhelmed her. Muthini is very determined and aggressive to achieve her dreams and become a doctor in future. Doing thorough revision and consulting with her teachers earned her a trump card. She likes reading storybooks and believes that hard work pays and never goes unrewarded. Muthini loves reading storybooks.

Velma lives with her 7 siblings and unemployed parents. She enjoys math and science and she would like to become a doctor.

Ana Lisbeth is from the community of Parcco near Calca, in the Sacred Valley of Peru. She is able to continue her studies to honour her late brother and fulfull her dreams with Mosqoy's support. Ana Lisbeth will be studying Business Administration at a post-secondary trade institute in Cusco and hopes to one day open her own business, where she can support future Mosqoy students and youth in her community. Ana Lisbeth finds great strength in her brother’s words, who wanted more than anything for her to continue her studies and follow her dreams despite challenges that came her way.

Lucas was born in the city of Beira, Sofala province, on January 1, 2006, where he lived with his parents. He is a calm and intelligent boy and likes to play with his friends. During his free time, he reviews school subjects and helps with house duties. Lucas father died in 2011, a victim of illness. In life he worked as a police officer and his mother died in 2008, victim of illness. He has no siblings. Since the death of his parents he is living with his grandfather. The house remained with 1 bedroom after he walls of the other bedroom and living room fell with Cyclone Idai. There is an outside bathroom and the house has piped drinking water. The grandfather is retired and receives a little bonus. What he receives is not enough to support the family, sometimes they spend the day without meals. Lucas's preferred subject at school is Biology and he wants to become a Teacher. During 2020, due to COVID 19, the students had to study home, going weekly to the school to buy brochures and copies of tests. Most of the kids could not afford it.
