JOIN HEREAgnes is an outgoing girl who completed her primary education and passed very well. She is the first born child with two young brothers and one sister. Her mother is a single mom. She is self-employed as a tailor and her earnings are not sufficient to pay her daughter’s secondary school fees. The family lives in a rented single room. Agnes believes that hard work pays and desires to work hard to uplift her family from poverty and also help the aged as well children who come from poor backgrounds. She aspires to be a doctor to treat sick people from all over the world. Her hobby is reading story books.

Anna is an uninhibited girl who believes that there is a price for working hard. She is the last born in a family of three; two sisters and one brother. She lives with her parents who are not employed. Anna has been working hard and has always remained focused towards achieving her goal of becoming a lecturer at the university. She wants to end poverty in Kenya by teaching and transferring skills to students at the university in different fields. She is a fan of reading novels about real life situations and how to overcome them.

Mutheu is the fifth born child from a family of 6 children. Her parents rely on casual jobs to sustain the family. Despite being sent home due to school levies every now and then, she has remained resolved towards achieving her dream of becoming a teacher. Mutheu believes that knowledge is power and she wants to pass it to students to end illiteracy in the rural areas. She also wants to empower students to attain their dream careers and occupations so as to improve their livelihoods. During her free time, she likes to read novels.

Purity comes from a family of six siblings; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is the fifth born child in her family. She lives with her parents who do casual jobs to cater for the family needs. Her elder siblings dropped out of school due to lack of school fees. Despite the challenges that she faced, her dream of becoming a doctor to treat her ailing mother, who always complains of severe headaches and pneumonia, has not shattered. Purity hopes that one day she will get her family from the shackles of poverty that they are in and she believes that where there is a will there's a way.

Emmaculate is the last born in a family of three; one sister and one brother. Her parents rely on subsistence farming for livelihood, which has been greatly affected by the changing climate. While in primary school, Emmaculate spent most of the time at home while the other students were at school. This was because of lack of finances to cater for some of the requirements at school. This did not stop her but instead propelled her towards achieving her dream of becoming a cardiologist in order to save lives. Her role model is Barack Obama and she likes his phrase of ‘Yes we can’. Moreover, she likes reading story books during her free time.

Managing time well and discipline was her secret to success. Mutheu�s dream is to become journalist. She believes that nothing good goes unrewarded. She likes reading storybooks.

Sabina is the last-born child in a family of three. She lives with her ailing mother and her sisters in a rented house in the Wamunyu market as they have no land. Her mother is a tailor, but her health condition has always deterred her from working for long hours. She is the only bread winner, and with two children in school the burden of paying school fees has overwhelmed her. Sabina is very bright and despite the challenges in her family she is determined to succeed in life. She dreams to be a surgeon in future to help the needy in the society. To her determination knows no barrier. She loves dancing.
