About

Lucy finished her Primary School Education, Standard eight last year in 2013. She passed well with 289 marks. This was strong enough to allow her to be admitted to Mfariji Girls Secondary school. This school is located quite a distance away from Lucy's village in Archers Post, Samburu. Her new school is in the Ntonyiri constituency in Kabachi, which is part of the Meru North district in the Eastern Provence of Kenya. At first it was an adjustment, and Lucy missed her mother and two sisters very much, but Lucy is liking her new life away from home in high school now. Lucy enjoys studying the sciences, and would like to learn well to become an engineer. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball.

Dear Lucy,
Your education is a gift. It is a Christmas gift to you and to our cousins in California. We are very lucky that we can send our children to good schools and we want you to have the chance to go to school. best wishes and Happy New Year!
Congratulations on being such a good student! What do you best about school? A few years ago I visited your beautiful country on a photographic safari. Last year my friend Francis visited my town of Pensacola, Florida.

Nohemi is from the small rural community Socma in the Sacred Valley Region of Peru. Growing up it was difficult for her family to meet their basic needs. This made it challenging for her to prioritize her studies; nevertheless, she was persistent and found the support she needed for secondary education through scholarship programs. "La alegria y las ganas son los que guian nuestro camino para el exito. "Happiness and motivation guide our path to success." In the future, she would like to use her knowledge and experience in order to help develop a sustainable tourism program for Socma. She is very proud of her beautiful community and hopes to share her culture with others in a way that allows for responsible social development.

Farhan comes from a nomadic family, which includes his mother, two grandmothers, two grandfathers, five sisters, and nine brothers. Being from a nomadic family, Farhan is especially excited to have earned a scholarship to study at our school and have the opportunity to improve his and his family’s future. Farhan’s biggest accomplishment is learning English and continuing to improve his language abilities. When he first arrived at school, he had trouble understanding English, but he now feels comfortable learning in English. Now that he is comfortable with English, he enjoys helping his peers who are having trouble learn English so that they can do better in school. In the future, Farhan hopes to be a School Headmaster so that he can help other students learn.
