Kumari writes: "My name is Kumari Magar. I live in Bhaktapur, Nepal at the New Youth Children Development Society. I have lived here since I was 8 years old and I am now 18. I don't remember much before coming to NYCDS but I have two younger brothers who also live here. There are children at NYCDS and they have been my family for the past 10 years. "Most of the children are much younger than me and I have many jobs and help look after them when I am not studying. Experience helping to look after so many children means when I grow up I want to be a social worker and continue to help poor people in my whole life if I can. "I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful family here and would be extremely grateful for the opportunity that scholarship would give me in helping me to achieve my goals and to make a bright future of mind."

Bikash writes: "I am from a poor family. I have one mother and brother. I haven't any grandparents and father. I have a mother but her health condition is so bad. She loves us and my brother and we also love her. My mother work as labourer in Kathmandu before some years but labour income is very low. So, poor economic condition of my mother couldn't afford me for study. My mother's income wasn't enough to house me. So, my mother couldn't do anything for me. That's why now I am staying at New Youth Children Development Society(NYCDS). All the brothers and sisters of NYCDS are good and helpful. Nowadays I feel so happy that I get brother, sister and father, mother in NYCDS. "Nowadays my mother is living in my village. My village is very far away from NYCDS. Once a year she will come to meet us by collecting money in village. Due to poverty just one time a year she comes to meet me and my small brother. At last, in future I have to give happy life to my mother by providing health service and other services."

I came here 9 years ago when I was 6 years old. I don't know how I came here. NYCDS has been providing us food, shelter, clothes, education and so on. We have a big family. In this home 45 children are studying as well as staying here. I love painting and drawing. Now I am learning painting in my school. Every morning we need to go to play football. I like to play football. It is my favorite game. Nepal is multiethnic, multi-cultual, multi-religious, multi-launguage in diversity and geography. Magar people live in western central part of the country. They have their own culture and traditional dresses. I would be very much thankful to you if you provide me a scholarship. I want to study hard for my future. So, my future is in the hands of each organization who is providing scholarship."

I am here since I was 7 years old. When I came here, I was a small child. I only know a little bit about my parents. My mother died when I was 6 years old and my father got another marriage. After that he left me and one of my uncles took me here. Since he left me here, no one came to see me. I still don't know where he is. Either he is alive or died. I am a very poor boy. I hope you will help me."
