My name is Patricia. I am the last born in my family. My father died when I was three years old and my mother died when I was four. My aunt took me to Dar es Salaam. I started class one in 2007 and finished class seven in 2013. My ambition is to become a counselor. My aunt is not capable of paying my school fees because she is retired. I believe that education will help me and I will help others.

Diana attends Kondoa A-level School. My dream for my life is to become a doctor after my studies. I will get there by taking my studies seriously; studying very hard and praying to the Lord. My happiest moment in my life is when I get a successful reward for the effort I made. Four years from now I want to have a job as a doctor working for a Medical Center. The most difficult experience that I had early in life was the misunderstanding between my parents. My mother had to start her own life, I and my siblings live with her. My parents’ separation makes me, my brothers and sisters suffered, we lack our basic needs. What I learn from this is that: conflict can make someone suffer and life worse.

Chabine is a very smart, friendly girl with definite leadership skills. One of six children, Chabine grew up in a small village near Cap-Haitian in northern Haiti. At a young age, her father went to the Dominican Republic and never returned. This devastated Chabine and her family. When it became too difficult, her mother brought Chabine and her brother to Port-au-Prince to find better opportunities. Tragically, they ended up begging on the streets just to survive. Today Chabine is growing into a great young woman. She is a very feminine girl who loves doing her hair and painting her nails. Please pray for Chabine's faith to grow as she seeks to be a woman of God.

I was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. I am the first child in my family. My parents were both born in Haiti but they both came to the Dominican Republic to search for work, which is where they met. In this country, public schools don't always accept Haitians, and although they did accept me, they do not give a very high quality of education. Private schools give a much higher quality of education, but my family didn't have the possibility to send me. Then I got the chance to go to the Change My Stars English camp where I met many foreign counselors who were teaching us English, and teaching us about successful practices. They liked me and congratulated my work ethic and started tuition for me to go to private school. At first I missed my friends and wanted to return to public school, but then came to see the reason that they were sending me to private school. I am very happy and grateful for this privilege and I am working hard to get good grades and graduate. Thank you.
