Leornad's father passed away and he does not know where his mother is. He stays with his unemployed grandmother. He does not have a grandfather. He has one brother and one sister.

Geovlyne’s parents could not take care of her so they left her in the care of Wema Children’s Centre. She loves her science courses, particularly physics and chemistry and hopes to become a civil engineer to improve infrastructure in Kenya.

This is the 9th born among 12 siblings. Mildred's parents have only a small piece of land from which they earn all of their income so her family is extremely poor. Her elder brothers and sisters never completed school. Mildred's family is only able to afford one meal per day. Mildred is a lovely and smart girl who hopes to one day help her family come out of poverty.

Leah is a total orphan who comes from the northern part of Kenya. She began studying at Highway Academy after she was found living with a distant relative in the nearby Bukembe Market. Though a few years behind in school, Leah has worked incredibly hard to make up for the time she lost. She particularly enjoys studying science and Kiswahili and dreams of becoming a lawyer.

Jesse comes from a very poor family that is unable to provide school fees. He lives very close to the school.

Calistus comes from a polygamous family. His mother and the children were deserted. He had to stay out of school for two years after completing primary school. He joined Wema at Form I to continue with school. He is a bright boy, if assisted he will help his family come out of the current situation.
