Lucas is was supported by TSF for two years of O-level and is now attending A-level Galannos Boys High School. He is the last born and has one brother who finished his secondary education at Klimani Secondary School in Moshi in 2012. Lucas' father works at a small restaurant in Karatu as a cook while his mother works as a cook in Dar es Salaam which is more than a 15-hour bus ride away from Karatu. Lucas' parents' income was often not enough to pay for his and his siblings' school fees, so sometimes he would be forced to leave school for failing to pay. Lucas says: "Education will help me to handle my life and help others."
