Mwau is the third born child in a family of four children. His father is a woodcarver and his mother is a housewife. Both parents are unable to raise his fees for secondary school. Mwau completed his primary education in 2015 and and scored 355 in KCPE exam. He was among the top students at his primary school. Mwau is a smart boy who is determined to work hard in school and become a civil engineer. He says, "When I grow up, I want to help design good roads in my country". This is the big dream for Mwau and with his passion and determination to excel in school, it should come to pass one day.

Raymond is the fist born and the only child of a single mother. His mother earns a living doing casual labor in Nairobi while Raymond lives with his aging grandmother.. Raymond did his primary exam (KCPE) in 2015 and was the top student at his primary school with 384 marks. He is a confident boy who is determined overcome all odds to become a pilot. ' I need to work hard to become a pilot in the future.'

Mathendu is the first born child in a family of two children. His parents are peasant farmers and are unable to raise his fees for secondary school. Mathendu did his primary exam - KCPE in 2015 and was the top student at Kyaani Primary school with 365 marks. Mathendu is a very brilliant and focused boy who loves education. With beaming confidence he says "I wish to be an electrical engineer after completing school" Mathendu has an great a determination to join secondary school and study hard to make a career in electrical engineering.

Ann’s mother tries to support her father by cutting charcoal and selling it. Unfortunately, her mother is illiterate and elderly yet extremely committed to seeing her daughter complete school. Her home is a mud thatched hut and there is no available water in the immediately vicinity. Teachers say she is very mature, organized and easy to teach. Ann is so good at netball that she was chosen to be school games captain. She was also once sent to National levels for her musical skills. After secondary school, she’d love to attend Kenyatta University.

Francisca was born in Sofala province. She is a quiet girl and very friendly. Her preferred leisure is to play with her friends jumping rope. At the end of the day, she uses to review her school work. She is orphaned of parents. In 2003, her father died victim of disease. He used to be a farmer. Two years later, in 2005, her mother also passed away due to illness, she used to work in the field as well. Francisca started to live with her aunt that does not work. Her uncle is a “spare bus driver”, sometimes he is working sometimes not, and it is not a permanent job. The aunt has 3 other children so Fancisca is sometimes the last to be attended to in the family. But she does not give up on her dream to become a teacher and works very hard for it to become true.

João was born in Sofala province. He is a playful and smiling boy with many interests. He likes to play with friends in the same neighborhood. His father died in 2012, victim of illness. In life, he was selling products at the local market. After some time, his mother remarried, but the current husband pays no attention to his stepchildren. He is making little jobs as a driver here and there and he only provides food for the whole family with his low income, while the mother plants rice to help her husband with the household expenses. As there is no money to support the school expenses for the stepchildren, João hardly can fulfill his dream of becoming a teacher.

Joana was born in Inhambane province, where she lived with her parents. She is a very quiet girl and helpful. After fulfilling her homework and household duties, she plays with her friends. She is orphaned of parents. Her mother died in 2003 when the girl was 2 months old, due to illness, and her father died in 2013, victim of illness as well. He used to be a mechanic. After her father’s death, she moved to live with her aunt that works as a clerk at a butcher. What she earns is not enough to sustain the whole family and pay the girl’s school expenses.
