"I come from a humble background of two parents, one sister, and one brother. We live in a single room house in Kibera. My current life situation is not so pleasing because my parents are casual workers and we live hand to mouth without enough food to eat or even good clothes to wear. Someday I would like to join the university at Nairobi and pursue a medical degree. I would like to be a doctor and treat people who cannot access medical help. I would like to help my parents by building them a big house and get them out of poverty. I would also like to help children from my slum who cannot afford school fees and their daily basic needs. My other aspiration is to be an ambassador for peace in the Kibera slums."

"My life has been difficult since my parents have no good jobs. We are living from hand to mouth but we care about our lives. My life situation has worsened since my father got in an accident. We are very grateful to god for keeping us alive and giving us a place to lay our heads on. First I would like to finish school and acquire a degree. After that I would like to have a higher standard of living. I would like to open a school and teach children on how to make their dreams come true. I would like to tell other children from the slums that their background doesn't matter. What matters is where they are going, not the challenges that they came from."

"Where I live is not pleasing to the eyes. Coming from a family of seven, and myself being the firstborn, my family members look up to me as their future helper. It has been a very difficult task in paying school fees and for uniforms up to now. I cannot afford to buy books. When I finish my education, I would like to be a neurosurgeon. Many people suffer from problems, and there are not enough qualified doctors to treat this problem. People cannot get treated in Kenya. If I become a doctor, my parents will no longer live in the slums. I will make life heaven on Earth for them. I will also use my earning to pay school fees for my younger siblings."
