Velma lives with her 7 siblings and unemployed parents. She enjoys math and science and she would like to become a doctor.

Intercessor is 15 years old. Her father is a volunteer at AMCC and her mother has a small shop selling cell phone accessories and sim cards, and charging phone batteries. Growing up, she attended Kagio Primary School. She enjoyed playing with friends, reading novels, and swimming. She grew up in her parents rented house, where she shared a bedroom with her three siblings. She loves meeting new people and making new friends. Currently she is at boarding school, studying in Form 1, where she is working hard. However, she is frequently sent home due to a lack of money for tuition. Intercessor is hoping to attend University at Egerton, and aspires to become a lawyer. Intercessor is looking for a sponsor so that she can continue her studies without breaks.

Joan is thirteen years old. She begins 8th grade in Tanauan City High School this academic year, 2014-2015. Joan has six siblings. Her father and eldest brother are both working to provide for their daily needs. She and her sisters help their mother with the household chores. They eat supper together as a family. This makes Joan happy.

Ever since she was young, Maria Jose has been determined to study something in the medical field. This year, after three attempts, she finally managed to meet the difficult entrance requirements to study physiotherapy at university. She has just completed her first term and is thrilled to be doing what she had set her heart on. Maria Jose is a very warm and spontaneous person and gets along easily with all different types of people, characteristics which should be helpful in her chosen career. Although her background is different from most of her fellow students, she has lost no time in making friends on the university campus. Her family has extremely limited means, but has always supported Maria Jose as far as they have been able. In recent years, they have been putting aside small amounts of money to help their daughter study. Although this is by no means enough to cover the costs, they are more than happy to contribute everything they can, a sign of their and Maria Jose's strong commitment to education.

Renise came to the streets of Port-au-Prince from northern Haiti with her sister to beg and raise money to help her poor family. Life on the streets, however, turned out to be more difficult and traumatic than she expected. As a result, Renise used to regularly stutter, speaking only one word every few seconds when she got nervous or upset. Today, she loves being at the girls' home, is very confident, and has become an outstanding student. She skipped two grades and for the last few years, has been at the top of her class. She has a deep, profound, faith, and wants to one day dedicate her life to help share Jesus with other children living on the streets. Please pray for Renise's continued growth in the Lord and knowledge of His Word.

Dolly had to leave school because of the distance to the senior school. Her parents did not want to take the risk of sending her that far everyday. Dolly's father is a farmer in the village of Bhatpur. Dolly is talented at sewing and cooking and loves to sing. She loves to listen to and sing along with the radio. Dolly aspires to become a teacher.

My history is sad because ever since I was a young girl I've had to stay at home doing chores because most the time I've been alone while my mom is always away working. I started to go to school when I was 7 years old and continued until 4th grade when my father died and I had to help my mom. At 14 years old I returned to school and graduated. I thought I would never continue studying but now, at 18 years old, thanks to all the support we've received, we now have high school and very soon our dream is going to be a reality. My mom was 28 when I was born. My parents suffered a lot because lack of jobs and we didn't have a house to live in because we come from a very poor family that fought everyday to move ahead. My mom had to walk 6 hours daily to her job while I stayed home alone with my brothers cooking and cleaning.
