Gabriel lost his mother and father at a very young age and is being raised by his grandmother. He lives in a shanty town behind a mechanics garage on the outskirts of Kissemah Village. He walks over a mile everyday to attend Mawuvio's School. In his free time Gabriel does odd jobs for people to earn money for himself and his grandmother to eat.

Fridah Mbithe Munyao is the last-born child in a family of six children. Born in 1997 Fridah joined Nyaani Secondary School in 2012 from Nyaani primary school. She is a hard working girl and managed to score well in her primary level. Her father passed away in 2001 leaving her mother to take care of the children. One of her brothers is in form four in the same school and the other is in college. The elder brother has been helping their mother in paying their school fees by doing casual jobs. Fridah is well behaved and focused in school. Her dream to become an accountant has been her driving force. She sees education as the only ladder to achieve her goals in life.

Daniel has no recollection of his parents and has been living by himself most of his life. His grandmother lives in a remote village in the central region but insists that Daniel live in Kissemah where he can receive free education from Mawuvio's Outreach. Daniel does odd jobs for older people and lives in markets, sleeping outside.
