Philip writes: "My father is deceased and my mother is a peasant farmer who produces enough for our survival. However my mother sometimes sells to support the home and our education. This has not been a reliable source of funding the education of my siblings because it is not a guarantee that the crops when sewn will yield good produce due to the poor and rudimentary agricultural practices here. The death of my father has therefore left too much burden and stress on my mother and the tendency of us to dropping out of school in the very near future is very high judging from very obvious reasons. I appreciate the need to be educated and therefore want to appeal to all well wishers to help me stay in school and climb higher the academic ladder so I can grow to be what I wish to be in the future."

Theodora is an orphan. Her parents both died a few of years ago. Theodora is the fifth of six children. She and her siblings live with their aunt who has three children of her own and cannot afford to support the ten children who live with her now. Life has not been easy for Theodora since the death of her parents. Sometimes, she has gone without basic necessities like food during school. Theodora had to walk long distance to attend school because she could not afford the costs of transportation. Theodora is determined to succeed in at schools, become employed, and contribute towards her own community's development by helping disadvantaged children access basic and higher education. She is one of many intelligent students who would have lost hope of going to secondary school without the help of the School Fund funders. Theodora says, "to me education is the key of life, and I would urge all students to study hard and pass their exams."
