Wambua is a very hard-working boy. In his school he emerged to be one of the top students. During his primary education Wambua remained focused despite the many challenges he went through. He is grateful to his teacher who exempted him from paying school levies and remained in school. His mother is single and only does casual jobs to cater for the family. Wambua is determined to become a doctor in future. He believes that hard work never goes unrewarded.

Neema came to Orkeeswa School with an appetite for knowledge and success that was born from a difficult upbringing. Neema's father passed away when she was young, and her mother has experienced mental health issues that made it difficult for her to support her children. Her grandmother ensured Neema and her siblings got the care they needed, but she was worried she would not be able to send them to school. Despite earlier hardships, Neema has become a lively and cheerful student with a passion for drama and singing, and she will surely be a star in her community!

Susan is the second-born child in a family of three. Her eldest brother is in high school. Two years back her mother was diagnosed with a heart disease that has taken toll on their meagre earnings. Their father is a casual construction worker and everything he earns goes to treating their ailing mother. Her elder brother has been out of school due to huge fees balance. Despite the family challenges, Susan has kept her dream alive. She has constantly worked hard in school and her dream is to become a doctor so as to help people like her mother. She believes in Nelson Mandela's quote that education is the greatest weapon that one can use to change the world.
