Bercelia is from a very large family who lives in the rural community Parobamba. Her family is thrilled about her acceptance into university, yet unable to provide the economic means to support her. Nevertheless, she perseveres, determined to accomplish her goals. "Si quieres ser algo en la vida, suena sin limites y aprenderas a valorar la cosa mas importante, la amistad." "If you want to be something in life, dream without limits and learn to value the most important thing, friendship." Bercelia is a very forward-thinking and compassionate young woman who sees her education as an opportunity through which she will than be able to help others. She is a confident leader amongst her peers, someone who is always thinking of others and planning ahead. In her free time Bercelia enjoys playing sports, singing, dancing, and loves to laugh!
School Year 2015
When Martha was in class four, she lost her mother to Malaria, who cooked and sold breakfast to support her family. She never knew her father, but her mother had told her that he was killed by thieves. Martha now lives with her aunt, her mother's sister, who has four children of her own. Her cousins, all boys, range from age 23 to age 5. Martha believes education will allow her to help her cousins and her grandmother who lives in a neighboring village.

Jesca walks more than 50 minutes to school each day. She lives with her mother who is separated from her father. Her father has three other children and her mother, who dropped out of secondary school in form two and is unemployed, has another four children. Jesca believes education betters humans and that with education she may help her family.
