Milaan Foundation envisions an inclusive and equal world where every girl has the knowledge, skills and social environment to pursue her dreams and explore her full potential. Over the last 12 years, Milaan has worked with more than 35,000 children and young people and advocated for safer and more inclusive spaces for them at various state and national platforms. The Milaan School specifically serves low income and lower cast families in a rural community in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Her father has small piece of land. And her family fully depends on small farming. Her family is poor.

Her father is a farmer and mother is a home maker. Her father's income is too low so he can't afford laxmi and her younger sister's school fees.
