Kauma welfare association was initiated in the year 2010 by a group of persons concerned with the plight of orphaned children who were forced to drop out of school by deaths of their biological parents or by general impoverishment. Together with other stakeholders, the group has been instrumental in raising internal funds to keep needy students in schools and also supported community based initiatives aimed at establishing several Mixed Day Secondary schools within Kauma Location. This has greatly assisted poor children from the community to access affordable education.
