Utena supports secondary school & university students in Kenya.
The experiences I had early in life was being sent home every time for unpaid school fees. Staying without food at home when my mother had gone for casual jobs in the village and their was not communication. If my parent was able I could not have gone through such. I felt proud of myself when I Join the junior school to proceed with my academic. When I am in school compound taking my studies. My dream is to become an engineer. I should put efforts in my studies to achieve my dream. When I reach my dream, I will support my family financially, social and everything so that they can have good future. Again, I will support the community through the needy pupils and WEF at large. I can support and enhance the community or country with free education. "Education is the only asset I can procure for a child."

Having a single mother who struggles to ensure our well being and cater for our needs was the experience I had early in life. The most difficult experience was being sent home for school fees while others are in school. A moment when I felt especially proud of myself was when I passed my KJSEA assessment despite fees challenges. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life was when donors donated uniforms to our school. My dream is becoming the best doctor. I will study harder to achieve my goals. After I reach my dream, I would support my family financially and ensure everyone in the community stays healthy. If I had the power to change my country, I would remove all corrupted civil servants and replace them with qualified and accountable people. "Always stay focused in whatever you would like to achieve."

I've gone through a challenging situation, but I believe I'm able to talk about it. Experiences I've had in my life is having a violent father who doesn't care about my basic needs. He comes home very late, drunk, and starts shouting and calling us names, including my mother. With the little money earned, he buys alcohol, therefore forgetting about our needs. Leaving him is a tough decision because the little he deserves is what keeps us moving. What I've learnt from this experience is that I should not give up because I'm the only one who can change my situation and my mother's. A moment when I was really proud of myself is when I was able to achieve my goal and even got an award for it. One thing I always remember, and I'm pleased about is, I was really poor in math, and no one wanted to help me but my mother was always there ready to help even though she didn't understand everything. She walked with me every step of the way until I improved. My dream is to become a successful nurse and help the sick and others who I can help. I'm going to achieve my dream goal through hard work, your support, and my determination. I will work smart to make sure I achieve my goal. Once I achieve my goals, I will take my family out of poverty. I will also help my community by helping children like me to achieve their dreams. I will also help WEF by donating funds. If I get a chance to change anything for the better, I will do it with all my might. I will use all the resources available to achieve my dream. A motivation that always keeps me going is that I never judge anyone because of their background, my background doesn't determine my future and also with time, a piece of charcoal can turn into a shiny diamond.

Being raised up in slums where life is hard, poor sanitation, violence, floods and being raised by single mother in a family of many siblings but tries to make ends meet. Fees problems forcing me to work part-time in order to raise some cash that my mum would add on. Then going back to school competing with students that were in class while I was at home struggling to raise the fees. I learned that time wasted can not be recoverd, so I used my time well and archieved my best. I also learned that there is always a reward for work well done. I felt proud of myself when I passed my K.C.S.E final examinations. Getting swift steps in my educational journey. Managing to join the university. To become a well educated and responsible citizen and aspire many through my work by working smartly and using every opportunity that comes my way to make a successful life. I will move my family to a good place and eventually make them a home. I will also assist in paying fees for my young siblings. For the community I will dedicate my time in mentoring them and encouraging them to work smartly in their studies and also support them financially. For WEF I will support them financially when in position for them to continue supporting many students. I will forcus on improving education, health facilities and support young poeple with talents. "No fate and force can hinder a determined soul."

What I experienced in earlier life were lack of school fees and school uniform. The most difficult experience in life was when I was sent home for school fees and when I came back to school, I found that my fellow students had covered a lot and I learnt that if my parents had money, I would not be found in such a situation. I was proud of myself when I joined high school. My most memorable and happiest thing was when I studied hard and achieved my target. I want to be a doctor through reading subjects related to that career. After I reach my dream, I will improve the living standard of my family and build a school where learning will be free of charge. If I had the power to change the country, I would build more public schools and invest in education.

Coming from a humble background, I learnt how to share with my friends because we also had our own difficulties back home. There was also some negative influence from my peers but I learnt how to avoid such. The most difficult experience I had was during the COVID-19 Era. I stayed in the farmlands where life was hard. I learnt how to be grateful for the little I get. I felt proud of myself when I joined my former High-school. I was proud because I knew they had the resources to help me study and shape my future in to what I desired. Joining University is my most memorable and happiest thing in my life. I knew I had a pathway to my success if I was indeed willing to succeed. My dream in life is to be legally financially successful. I am going to get there by putting up businesses by using money I get from the educational sphere. I also will do my best in my photography and videography journey. I will help my family by putting both of my parents into retirement, ensuring they have a desirable living condition. I will also help my sibling attain his desired level of education. For my community, I will help the children attain quality education. For WEF, I will give my full support to ensure that their mission is a success, be it financial support and any other form of support they would want from me. I would like to change the leadership of this country, from the highest position to the lowest. "Dreams are still valid"
