Jescah is one of the top students in her class at Highway Academy. Her life has been significantly affected by HIV/AIDS, as her mother is infected by HIV and the disease claimed the life of her father in 2009. She loves to travel and though she has never been on a plane, she dreams of one day becoming an airhostess. In the meantime she spends her free time dancing and singing.

I study Biology, History, Chemistry, Mathematics, Agriculture, Kiswahili and English and Christian religious education. I like reading novels especially those that encourage me to move on with life and to accept other people in the society. I also like playing netball and hockey and sometimes I spend my free time listening to music. In the future I would like to be an airhostess. The reason that drives me to this job is that I have a lot of passion for traveling around the world. I want to travel worldwide and to meet different people of different types and also to get money to help my society.

Hi! I am Jescah from Wema Center and I am in class thirteen. My favourite subjects are English, Kiswahili, and history. I like history because it talks more about our passed and our origin. I also like Kiswahili and English because they are national languages. I would like to thank all of you for helping me a lot. I am so happy to hear that you have been healthy and been able to attend all of your classes! What languages can you speak? I can speak English and a little bit of French. I have tried to learn Kiswahili, but it is very difficult for me to remember so I only speak kidogo sanna. Which language do you like to speak best?

Hi! I have been learning well here in school, taking my lessons. My best subjects are languages. I love languages because these are the languages we speak every day. Languages are the basic unit of communication. A language like English is spoken in all parts of the word, while Kiswahili is spoken in 4 countries here in Africa.

I have been healthy and have not missed classes. I thank you for the sponsorship and I promise to continue to work hard and get an A so that I can join a university in America. That’s my dream. Thank you!

My name is Jesicah Juma. I learn in Highway Wema Centre. I am in Form 2. We are four in our family. Three kids and my mother. My father passed away when I was in standard 5. We then started getting used to a family withou a father. That is a single family. We have lived in hardships since the day my father died.
My mother who has always tried to do the best and provide for the whole family. My elder sister has just finished her fourth year. We even do not know where we will get the money for her university. That’s why I need sponsorship so that I can at least be a better person in future to assist our family and the society. I am always the best in our class. And I know I will do my best. I like reading physics, biology, and chemistry.
I am 15 yrs old. By June 26th I will turn 16th it will be my birthday. My younger brother is in standard eight. He is going to do his national exams. Which I know well that he is a bright boy and God will help him to pass.
I am bright and I know that with God on my side, I will pass my exams and also get my dream job. I would like to be a lawyer or a pedetritian so that I can help others. The reason why I would like to be a peditritian is because I would like to help children who are orphans like me.
I will really be thankful when I get the sponsership. I pray to God that he helps me. Because when I get the sponsership I will be able to finish my secondary school education. Thank you.

    The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

    I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation.     Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
