Isaya comes from a very large family as his father had 9 wives and dozens of children. His mother has 9 children herself, including Isaya. However, now that Isaya’s father has died, his mother struggles to support her many children as a subsistence farmer. Isaya is the youngest son and only one of his older siblings had the opportunity to attend secondary school. He hopes to be able to follow in his brother’s footsteps and finish secondary school — setting a good example for his younger sister who also attends Orkeeswa in Form One.

I want to grow up to be a Heart Doctor because there are so many people I know suffer with heart problem. My happiest moment in my life is also the moment I felt so proud of myself. That is when I passed my national exams with the highest in the class. After I become a doctor, I will come back to my community and help those less fortunate people. I also plan to help the School Fund with portion of my salary.

Class Rank: 3/29 The moment that I felt proud of myself is when I passed my primary school education with higher marks. I always dream of becoming an engineer. I will get there by studying hard, mostly in Physics and Chemistry. Even though I live in an orphanage, I am happy most of the time. I feel especially happy when I pass my exams. When I fulfill my dream, I will give back to the community by constructing a good road and houses. The School Fund gives me the opportunity to continue my education and fulfill my dreams in the near future. After I become an engineer, I will encourage all my fellow friends to contribute more money to the School Fund to continue supporting many needy children.
