About

Sereti’s parents are both subsistence farmers — cultivating crops and raising livestock. Sereti helps her family on their farm during the weekend. Her father has three wives and many children. Sereti is the youngest of five, having one brother and three sisters. None of Sereti’s other siblings were given the opportunity to go to secondary school. Instead, they were all married immediately after finishing primary school. Sereti hopes to be able to contribute to her family and make them proud by becoming the first in her family to complete secondary school.

Hi TSF Sponsors,

This is Samantha, the Scholarship Coordinator at Orkeeswa School, writing on Sereti's behalf. I wanted to let you know that Sereti has been having some really amazing experiences recently.

In November, she graduated from 10th Grade, and spent the next few months volunteering at a local primary school teaching young girls English and Math. She really enjoyed her time volunteering, and loved being a mentor to young girls in her community.

Thank you for your continued support of Sereti and Orkeeswa School!

With gratitude,

Samantha
Dear TSF Sponsors,

This is Samantha, Orkeeswa School's Scholarship Coordinator, writing on behalf of Sereti. Orkeeswa students just returned from their holiday break and are eager to be starting the new school year. Sereti and her classmates completed their 10th grade studies and National Exams last fall. While we wait for their exam results from the Ministry of Education, these students will be participating in a teacher training seminar, doing community service with local primary school students, and engaging in Orkeeswa's entrepreneurship training program.

These experiences will provide a unique opportunity for Sereti and her classmates to give back to their community, as well as explore entrepreneurship as a career path as they wait to see what their next steps are in their secondary school education.

We will certainly keep you updated on Sereti's progress with her community service and entrepreneurship projects, as well as her plans going forward. Thank you for your continued support of Sereti and Orkeeswa School! We sincerely appreciate your partnership in providing the highest quality education to our students.

With gratitude,

Samantha
