Hi Sharon,
Hope you are fine there. I am doing well in my studies . I was on a short holiday and now am going back to school. This is my last year in school which am planning to do my level best especially in the national examination at the end of the year.
During the holiday I have helped my grandma in the farm not forgetting my books.I have found it enjoyable since it has kept me busy from doing unnecessary works which are non profitable towards my studies.
I thank you for your contribution towards my studies. May God bless you.
Looking forward to hear from you again.
Hello Susan!

I hope you are having a nice school break. Will you be in form 3 this year? I am glad that you have been reading books. I just finished a book called Surrender last night and will start another one tonight. I just love all that I learn through books. Sometimes, they are just a story which I delight in.

Right now I am in the state of Vermont. It's cold and there is snow on the ground which I like. I am hoping to go skiing at the mountain. It's a fun sport to do.

Both of my children, Roan and Emma, were home for Christmas. It was a lot of fun to have them here. We played games, watched some movies, and cooked wonderful chakula.

Have a great school year. Work hard, keep reading and have some fun too! Sharon
Hello Sharon,
I am fine and I hope you are also fine.We have closed schools and I am currently on a long holiday which is the December holiday.I have been doing well in my studies which has lead to my improvement in my studies. This holiday, as it is long, I am planning to visit the Kenya connect library and do more while revising in books .

In schools I always show a good example to others following on your steps of helping. This has contributed to me to be elected as a guidance and counselling leader in my class.

Sijambo Susan!

I hope your school year has been going well. Yesterday I heard that the new President of Kenya was sworn in. I hope he brings prosperity to the country!

My family and I went to Iceland on vacation. It's located between Europe and North America in the Atlantic Ocean. It's a small country with a lot of natural features including volcanoes, geyser, lava flows, and mountains. We saw a geyser spout from the ground. It spurts out every 5 minutes. It was very cool. We also walked on hardened lava and went into a glacier.

It is almost autumn in Maryland and our leaves are beginning to change colors. It's getting colder and soon winter will come. However, the autumn is a lovely time when apple crops are ready to pick and plenty of pumpkins.

I hope you have a good break with some studying, lots of reading (borrow some books from the library) and some fun with your friends. Keep working hard in school.... ask questions and read books to learn more!

Take good care, Sharon (Mutanu)
Hi Susan--

Thank you so much for writing! It is always good to hear from you. I am glad that you were able to visit Kenya Connect during the school break. Did you go to the Conflict Resolution workshop? It sounded like it was helpful.

It is summer here in Maryland and quite hot. We have tomatoes and peppers growing in our garden. I went to the farmer's market last week and bought corn (maize) and peaches which is one of my favorite fruits. They are juicy like mangoes.

I am currently reading a book set in Kenya. It's quite good and it reminds me of Wamunyu. I just love to read! Are you reading any books right now?

I hope the rest of your term goes well. Take care!

Your friend,
Sharon (Mutanu)
Hi Sharon,
Hope you are fine.I am doing well in school. I have visited Kenya connect and I am resuming back to school next week and promise to put more effort to achieve my goals.

Here in Kenya the leaves have already shed and there is also a lot of coldness.I am glad to hear from you that you love reading books. I also like reading novels.

I thank you for your support that you have been giving me in school. May God bless you.
Looking forward to hear from you again.
Hi Susan! I am glad you are working hard in school. I hope you were able to visit Kenya Connect during the break. Did you get to do the robotics lesson? I was challenged in maths when I was a student. I kept practicing until I got better, but it was still hard.

It is spring in Maryland which means that the flowers are beginning to bloom again and the leaves on the trees are coming out. It's also been raining a lot which is good for the plants.

I just finished a wonderful book about the state of Alaska in the U.S. It was set in the 1800s and I learned a lot and enjoyed reading about a group's adventure. I love reading books since it helps me learn about places, people and history. Do you like to read?

I know that the next year is being condensed. Keep working hard and read as much as possible. I also encourage you to take advantage of after school clubs and activities.

Take good care! Sharon
Hi Sharon,
Hope you are fine . I am doing quite well . I am still on my effort towards my goal. I am writing to you to thank you for the support that you have been giving me.
I am now progressing to the next class.I am promising to work harder to achieve my goals.I have also joined some clubs in my school to boost my weak subjects like mathematics and biology. This subjects have more concern on my studies and that's way I have decided to have most of my time on them.

I am looking forward to hear from you.
Susan.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.
