Dear TSF Sponsors,

Thank you very much for your contribution towards Al-Mukhusin's education at Orkeeswa School via The School Fund's Scholarship Match Day! Together, we are contributing to support high-quality education for our amazing students in rural Tanzania, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Thank you again for your generosity and support of Orkeeswa School and our students!

Dear TSF sponsors,

This is Tunu, the Communications Manager at Orkeeswa School.

I hope that you are well and keeping safe as the world slowly attempts to go back to normal.

At Orkeeswa School, our students are doing well with their academics and extracurricular activities as they prepare to finish their first term, in June.

Al-Mukhsin is now in 9th grade, after completing last year’s National Examinations and passing with flying colors. The class had a 100% pass rate on their National Exams and we are very proud of them! As a 9th grader, Al-Mukhsin now has the opportunity to focus on specific classes, Art or Science, that set him up for his future ambitions. We had a chat with him and thought you would like to hear what he has to say.

"In my 8th Grade National Exams I got division one (A+ average). I was happy for putting in the hard work and what I achieved. There is definitely room for improvement and better results when I get to 10th Grade. I intend to have to do a lot better than I did now."

We also spoke to Al-Mukhsin about his career plans and this is what he shared;

"After I complete my studies ,I want to become a pharmacist. This is because I want to help people in my society with medicines for different diseases but also because there are no enough pharmacies in our community."

Thank you for your continued support of Al-Mukhsin’s education and for being part of the journey in realizing his potential and goals. I look forward to keeping you updated on Al-Mukhsin’s progress and accomplishments this year.

Dear TSF sponsors,

This is Tunu, the Communications Manager at Orkeeswa School.

I hope this email finds you well and healthy, especially during this difficult time in our world. As you may be aware, Orkeeswa School reopened in June after we made several changes on campus to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community.

Al-Mukhsin is doing well and is excited to be back in school catching up with his studies. He is currently focused on covering his 8th Grade topics, and in Life Skills he is learning about Mindfulness and Meditation. He has written a letter to check in with you and your families, as well as share with you an update on what he is doing in class. Below is a recent picture of his in sign language class.

We look forward to keeping you updated on Al-Mukhsin's progress and thank you for your continued support in his education. We are so thankful for your partnership, which has been even more critical this year during the pandemic, ensuring we can stay on track with our mission to provide the highest-quality education to our students.

With Gratitude,
Tunu and Orkeeswa School

  • Shivanshu

With his early schooling in the vernacular, Shivanshu's challenge has been to adapt to the new mode of participatory learning in the class. He is still a little shy about actively participating in in class activities, but his peer interaction is active and good. He likes acting and participates whenever given a chance.
