About

Magdaline comes from a humble family of four living in Maai-Mahiu. She has been brought up by her mother since 2006 after the death of her father when she was 9 years old. Magdaline's mother was unable to pay for her primary education but fortunately government intervention was able to see that Magdaline could graduate from primary school. I was browsing through the pictures in The School Fund and ran across your story. I am able to make contributions because in addition to my regular job, I am a musician and make money playing weddings from time to time. So when I play a wedding, I am able to contribute to something like your education. It makes playing the wedding more fun for me. I play the viola (which is like a violin but bigger) in a string quartet.
I hope that this will help you with your schooling.
Hi Jaclyn,
My name is Magdaline, and am a student in Maai-Mahiu Girls' Secondary School. It's a great pleasure to be in school.I am a third year student.I've been able to emerge among the best students in all my classes. My best subjects last term were Chemistry,Biology,Mathematics and Business Studies. My holiday was not long due to the assignments.I also cherish my family very much.I like singing and travelling.

Live by upright standards and others who are striving to do the same will be more likely to find you. They will make the best kind of a friend.

Matata is a daring young boy who believes that success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable. He is the last born in a family of four. His parents are unemployed and largely depend on subsistence farming, which has been negatively affected by frequent severe droughts. Most of the rural roads in his village are very impassable and this has pushed him towards achieving his dream of becoming an engineer. Since Matata was a young boy, he has always liked playing football not only at home but also in school and he was the goalkeeper for his school team.
