About

Our partner, Kathleen Education Center writes: "Brian's father left his mother after birth. His mother is a tailor and a former student of Kathleen Education Center. Brian's mother raised her son until she became aware that she had a very serious illness that she may not survive. This meant that she would not be able to take care of Brian. She took Brian, who was around three years old then, to live with his paternal grandparents. Brians's grandparents ended up raising him until he was about 6 years old. "Kathleen Education Center got to know Brian's mother when she was learning Tailoring with a group of other women in the community at the Center. When we learned that Brian's mother was very ill, we contacted her and she told us that her wish was to have her son go to school and get an education. We offered to educate Brian and we also referred his mother for treatment. Brian's mother is still living since she responded well to the treatment. We have educated Brian since he started Primary school and is now in his first year of secondary school at St. Charles Lwanga Kibiri Senior Secondary School. Brian is a good student. He has been getting good grades since he started Primary School and the Head Teacher of St. Charles Lwanga has informed us that Brian is a hardworking and promising student. Any help offered to Brian to continue with his education will be greatly appreciated."

Don't forget to write in your journal as often as you can. It is important to your donors as well as to me.

In your next journal tell me about your mother and your new brother.

Are they living in Massacka?

Hope to hear from you
