Hi Students!

I just read all the journal entries I have received since October. Such wonderful letters! I am so impressed by how mature and articulate you have become. I’m realizing that I have now been reading some of your journals for 5 years. When I look at your photos, I don’t recognize the child I first knew. You are teenagers now.
I especially love the stories that some of you told in your journals. Moral tales, I call them.

So congratulations for working so hard. I’m hoping you will achieve your goals, go to a university if you want, and become productive members of your community, and able to help others as you have been helped.

I am enjoying retirement. My age of 76 is bringing on a bit of health problems, like arthritis, but I keep active physically and don’t let it stop me from doing what I love to do.

I read a lot. I travel. I go to jazz concerts in San Francisco. I would love to return to Kenya and Tanzania for a visit. I’d love to visit your school. Maybe it will happen. Who knows?

So keep up the great efforts. I know it can’t be easy, but this is such a wonderful opportunity.

Very fondly, Susan
Hello Susan.I am okay. I am just waiting for my examination result which will be out by march.
Clouds is so important to our life because it shows the rainfall sign
Clouds form when air in the atmosphere reaches the dew point. Clouds may form anywhere in the troposphere.
Clouds that form on the ground are called fog.
How Clouds Form
Clouds form when water vapor condenses around particles in the air. The particles are specks of matter, such as dust
or smoke. Billions of these tiny water droplets come together to make up a cloud. If the air is very cold, ice crystals
form instead of liquid water.
Classification of Clouds
Clouds are classified on the basis of where and how they form. Three main types of clouds are cirrus, stratus, and
cumulus. Figure ?? shows these and other types of clouds. You can learn more about cloud types at this link:
• Cirrus clouds form high in the troposphere. Because it is so cold they are made of ice crystals. They are
thin and wispy. Cirrus clouds don’t usually produce precipitation, but they may be a sign that wet weather is
coming.
• Stratus clouds occur low in the troposphere. They form in layers that spread horizontally and may cover the
entire sky like a thick blanket. Stratus clouds that produce precipitation are called nimbostratus. The prefix
nimbo- means “rain.”
• Cumulus clouds are white and puffy. Convection currents make them grow upward and they may grow very
tall. When they produce rain, they are called cumulonimbus.
