About

When I was in class 5, I felt hopeless. I felt I wasn't going to fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor. I didn't have materials like textbooks to help me because of my parents' financial problems. The head teacher criticized my failures. I totally lost hope yet I never gave up working hard and I passed my grade 7 national examination. Now I'm pretty sure I'm going to fulfill my life's dream of becoming a doctor. I'll make myself study hard. My mom told me not to lose hope. After that, I started working harder and harder until I reached class 7. At that point, I started to improve in my studies and felt really proud of myself. Getting educational financial support from The School Fund is my happiest moment. Thank you to The School Fund for giving me this chance. I promise I won't let you down.

Hi School Fund Students

Sorry it took me a while to write to you. For those of you who is receiving my journal the first time, let me introduce myself.

My name is Indy. I am currently living at the same town as Ms Judy. She and I went to high school together. I am so happy to have this opportunity to get to know you.

I used to work with computers for many many years. Do you like to use computers?

Yesterday I met with some of my old school friends for lunch. These are the friends I have for almost 50 years. We talked about our school days when we were 12 years old.
It brought many happy memories.

Do you enjoy your school? Now is the time to form good friendship with your classmates? What do you do with your classmates? Do you study together? Do you talk and share secrets? I know you have a lot of study to do. Hopefully you can find some time to do some fun stuff with your friends.

Please write back to let me know what interests you.

Until next time,
your friend,
Indy

Class Rank: 3/70 When I grow up I want to be an engineer and be a good person in my society. I will feel very happy when I get there. The most difficult thing in my life was when my parents got sick, because we didn't know how to take care of them. I learned that we all feel stronger when we have gpod information. When I study hard and get a good performance I feel proud of myself. I plan to take a part of my salary and give back to the School Fund. So more children can get educated just like myself.

    Aida

Aida was born in Nampula province. She is a very quiet girl, friendly, intelligent and likes to play with her friends of the same age in the neighborhood she lives. When the girl was 2 years old, her parents separated for social reasons. The father died in 2011, victim of disease. Even separated, the father helped to support his daughter while living with her mother in Nampula. After her father's death, the family moved to Beira and began to face many difficulties; even the mother having gotten a job as a cleaner, her earnings are not enough to pay the school expenses. As Aida is a very good student and hardworking, she deserves help for her dreams to become true.
