Luis lives with his mother, an older sister and two younger siblings. They live in a house with two rooms, a kitchen and bathroom. Their only income is his mother's irregular, low income. The last year was very difficult because we were studying online. For me the best way to learn is in class because you can see your teachers and your friends and work with them. I also feel impatient - this is my last year at school and I am keen to go on to further training and then be able to help my family.
This term has been more difficult because we had to do more homework as well as the lessons online. I had some problems with maths as I couldn't understand the teacher, but I think I've done alright in all the other subjects. One thing I'm pleased about is that I've learnt to teach myself about topics that I did not understand. I thought I wouldn't pass these subjects but in the end I managed to do this by teaching myself. Thank you.

I wish all my dreams come true even though it is had to reach them. One of my dreams is to help other people who need special help, especially orphans and those whose lives are hard and poor. I also wish to help other girls who face problems that make them to fail reach their dreams. The most difficult experience in my early life was when my father and my mother divorced. It was hard for me to decide which one I should live with, my mother or my father. I did not know what was the right way. The situation made my performance at school drop. Then my dad took me and my siblings and he tried his best to provide good care for us and ensure that we got education. When I was selected for secondary school in Morogoro, my father didn’t have enough money for my school expenses. He talked with the headmistress so I could stay at school while he raised the money. The headmistress was very understanding. I completed my O-level education there and now I am in A-levels at Iringa Girls Secondary School. I am proud of myself when I do something that is appreciated by people and when I make someone happy.

I am here since I was 7 years old. When I came here, I was a small child. I only know a little bit about my parents. My mother died when I was 6 years old and my father got another marriage. After that he left me and one of my uncles took me here. Since he left me here, no one came to see me. I still don't know where he is. Either he is alive or died. I am a very poor boy. I hope you will help me."
