Hi Anne,

Thank you so much for being a mentor of my life. Now we are back to school after a short Mid-term break. In a few weeks we will be sitting for our Mock exams. Mock exams act as a gauge of our final exams. I am working hard and I expect to perform well.

I am wishing you all the best as you celebrate the Independence Day Today. Enjoy your self and have fun.

Pass my regards to the rest of your family.

Hi Japheth,

I am happy to hear that you are working hard. You should be finishing second term in a few weeks so you are getting close to the end of your secondary education. That is very exciting.

I am doing fine. Wednesday, July 4th, is our Independence Day so I will be spending time with friends to celebrate. That will be fun.

I encourage you to continue working hard so that you will achieve your goals.

Anne
Hi Anne,

I am always happy when i read your journals. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I am always focused and working extra hard to achieve my dreams.

I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit in California. We also have sand beaches in our country but they are far from where I live.

Wishing you all the best.
Japheth.
Hi Japheth,

I am happy to hear that you are putting extra efforts in your studies. It takes much effort to succeed and I know you want that. I am supporting you from here.

My family is fine. I enjoyed the visit with my son and am now back home in California. I went for a walk by the beach today. I love the ocean and find it very peaceful to walk there.

Wishing you success in your studies.

Hi Anne,

I am happy to hear that you are doing fine and rest of your family. My family and I are fine.

I have never seen snow because i live far from Mt. Kenya which is the only snow caped mountain in Kenya. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I am still putting extra efforts in my studies to achieve my goal.

Pass my regards to your family.

Japheth
Hi Japheth,

I am currently visiting my son in the state of Utah. He lives in the mountains surrounded by beautiful trees that are getting new leaves right now. Last night it got cold and snowed a little bit (about 1 inch). Have you ever seen snow? It had caught on the branches of the pine trees and looked very pretty this morning. Now the sun has melted all of it.

I encourage you to continue working hard to improve so that you can fulfill your dream of becoming a doctor. Kenya needs doctors to take care of all of the people. I will be thinking about you and supporting you as you study and learn.

My family and I are doing well as I hope your family is.

Your American friend,
Anne

I am sorry I have taken so long to write to you. I am happy to know that you and your family are doing fine.

How did you do on your exams? I know you are studying hard so am sure you did well. I am very impressed by your dedication to education that includes walking 2 hours to school. That lets me know that you are very serious and I am happy to support you.

I am doing well and hope the same for you. I will not take so long to reply in the future.

Anne
Anne,

Hope you are fine. My family and i are fine. I do appreciate you for replying my journal. School is going on well. we are towards the end of term one and every one is busy preparing for the end term exams. My favorite subjects still remains mathematics, Biology and Chemistry but i am still working on all subjects so that i attain the minimum requirement for University entry.

From home to school is about five Kilometers and it takes me about two hours. All the same this does not deter me from achieving my goals.

Finally i wish you all the best in your daily endeavors.

sincerely
Japheth

Hi Japheth,

I have not been to the part of Kenya where you live but maybe I will get there one day.

Wishing you well as you work hard in school to get a education that will take you further in life.

Anne
Anne,

Greetings! I am extremely happy for your kind gesture to help me complete my secondary education. In this last year, i am working extra hard in order to attain good grades and make it to the university.Despite the tedious walking to and from school, i am determined to achieve my goal of becoming a doctor in future.

I come from a village called Ngului in Yathui Division in Machakos County. Machakos county is in the eastern part of Kenya around 100 Km from Nairobi.

Once again thank you for writing to me. I wish you all the best in your daily activities.

Japheth
Hi Japheth,

I am happy to help you further your education. I hope you are getting settled in school and back into the routine of studying and going to class. This is your last year in secondary; how exciting!

Please tell me where you come from - where is your village and where do you go to school. I have been to Kenya many times and am most familiar with Western. Are you near Kakamega or Kisumu? Are you near Nairobi? I would like to have an idea where you are.

I live in the United States in California. California is on the west side of the US and I live very close to the Pacific Ocean. It is a very beautiful place and I am very happy living here.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Wishing you the best with your studies.

Anne
