About

Hesborn lives with his mother Josephine who is a single parent at Lindi; she earns a living from selling vegetables on the side of the road. Their Father abandoned the family when they were still young. They live in a one roomed house and pay Ksh 1300(USD 16) for both rent and electricity. Hesborn is the second born of three children, the first born dropped out in class seven and the last born is in class eight at Olympic High School. He is a bright young boy who loves to play football and his teacher states that "he comes from a poor background, the mother has other children in school and so she finds it difficult to provide for the family". The opportunity to go to High School through The Children of Kibera Foundation scholarship is overwhelming and he is thrilled to have the opportunity and his aim is to work even harder.

I have made another donation to your fund. I am trusting that you are still in school and are able to take advantage of this funding. I hope to hear from you someday if you ever get near internet.
I have made a small donation to your educational fund. I hope you are enjoying school and are now healthy.
Hello Tim,
I am glad that we are two people pursuing the same dream. you are almost achieving yours and I too hope that I will achieve mine in the near future. Thank you for believing in me and making me dream this big. I wish you all the best and I do hope we will live to tell our beautiful stories some day.
Regards.

Hesborn.
Hello Melanie,
I am really sorry for taking too long to reply you. I am doing well in school. Things were really tough for me last year but I somehow managed to overcome them. I fell seriously ill at the beginning of last academic year. I got admitted and had to several weeks away from school. This term, i had to work extremely hard to catch up with my colleagues and luckily for all is now well. My school is in the western part of Kenya. It is in a remote environment and I travel for more than eight hours to get to school. Accessing basic things like internet at times becomes very hard but we have learnt to cope with that, though it inconveniences us a lot.
I am in my third year in high school and next year I will be sitting for my final exam which will determine if I will be joining university. I am quite optimistic that I will.
I have told a lot about me and I would be glad to know what you are doing with your life at the moment.
Wishing a happy time.
Hi Hesborn, tell me about how you are doing at school.
Hi Hesborn, how is school?
Hi Hesborn,

My name is Tim and I work for The School Fund. How are you? I hope that you are doing well. I bet that you will become a doctor one day. I am not a doctor but my job is to help doctors to cure people. I do research on diseases and try to develop ways of preventing diseases or making them better. Best of luck in your quest to become a doctor! I'm sure you will become a master healer.

Tim
Its a new year and I am going to the next level of my academic ladder. The next fifteen weeks will find me in school. I am really grateful of all the kind support for my studies last year and this year. Be blessed.
I really look forward to a very interesting term as I have set for myself goals, both academic and extra-curricular goals. I am working towards making the best of me in the next 15 weeks.
Thank you all and hope to hear from you soon.
I feel humbled to be part of this great idea; education is my only hope of making it in life. Me second term in form two has been great, I was involved in the school soccer team and I recorded an improvement in my class grades by having a mean grade of B+.
