About

Swabra attends Ndono A-level School. In 2003 when I was 4 years old, my life turned to a storm when my father left the world. It was a very hard time for me as well as my mum. My mum cried all day long. She had to fight for the things my father owned but she ended up losing everything. My father’s relatives took all his property. My mother had a hard time because I was a small kid who needed to go to school with other children and to have the love of both a mother and a father, but I got neither. I had to study with my aunts, my mum’s sisters. My mum was almost dying because she didn’t know what to do to save me. I thank God I went to an orphanage center where I grew up and went to school. I started in nursery school and stayed until I completed my class seven. I was very happy when I joined The School Fund in 2012 when I was in Form 1. I enjoy doing journals and also associating with people from different levels of life. I thank God that I completed the Ordinary level at Ummu Salama Secondary School. I felt very proud after I got a positive result. It showed me that I can do something. Also it gave me the hope to pull up my socks and work harder than ever. I promise that my community will benefit a lot from me. All in all, I will help poor children to go to school and achieve their goals. I will help people go to the hospital when they fall sick and getting basic needs to poor people, in short helping all the community. My dream is to become a teacher. I request school funds from you so that I can continue studying and achieve my goals because education is the key to life. I promise that I will work hard and harder to reach my dream. Also I plan to give back to The School Fund after my dreams come true by assisting The School Fund’s learning facilities and being part of the peace and love among The School Fund team members. I LOVE THE SCHOOL FUND TEAM.

Hello Students,

My name is Karen and I live in the Bay Area of California U.S.A., and I work with Miss Judy on the School Fund Journal.

Judy is away visiting Canada and she asked me to write you to say hello, and say that I hope you will write me back to tell me about how are you doing in school, what classes or special topics are most interesting to you, what you are reading, what do you do for sports? Have you been able to use Raspberry Pi in your studies?

Be well,

Dear students:

Welcome to TSFTZ family!

My name is Jenny Chen, I am a retired software engineer. I work for TSFTZ as a volunteer staff. In 1976 I came to United States from Taiwan to study Math. I live in San Francisco area most of the time with my grownup children close by. However I travel back to Taiwan very often since most of my family members are still there.

Education helps me achieve my current good living standard. I echo TSF’s motto: “Education is an investment in the future”. Our team is devoted to help school-aged children stay in school, especially girls’ education. We encourage our students to write to us so we get to know each other better. We read each journal entry enthusiastically and response accordingly because we CARE.

TSFTZ team expects each sponsored student study hard and be successful! It is my privilege to write to you. I am looking forward to work with you.

-Jenny

Hello Everyone,

As a year comes to close, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I am very proud of each of you knowing that you have worked hard to achieve academic success despite under difficult circumstances.

You inspire me greatly and are an example of what hard work and determination can bring to one’s future.

We have worked hard in the US to raise money for your education, and nothing would make me happier seeing you take full advantage of the scholarship from The School Fund to fulfill your educational dreams in the future, whatever profession or objective that may be.

Study hard and make your dreams come true. Have a fantastic 2016!

Your friend,
Jonathan G.
Hi Judy!
Hi Judy!
Thanks for your advice, may God bless you and help you in each and every step in your life.I will study hard to achieve my goals and help my family as well as my nation and people of the whole world.Today we have been told about how the national exam is and how to face it.I thank my teachers for there cooperation and God help them in each and every step.
It is nice to see most of you already went to the computer center to update your journal. I know all of you had a great break. It is already half way on in your second semester. Two more months before this school year is going to end. I wish you all to try your best. I know you all can do it.

In your summer assignment you wrote that you will study hard so you could reach your dream. It is true that your future is in your own hands, and your own destination is how you are going to work on your goals and reach them. People could recommend that you do some things and they can help you in some way, but you are the only person that can make the your dream come true. Any step you take, you are one step close to your dream. I want to see you all work hard to reach your next destination.

As the people who fund your education we want to know you. The only way we have to know you are through your journals.

Please write in your journal, so that we can know you better. You can write about your daily life, your school, your friends, what subjects you are studying now. What is your favorite subject and why do you like it, and so on. We want to know your hopes and dreams. Or write us anything at all that you want us to know about.

I want you all to be outstanding people in my mind, each of you separate and special. If you are just a name in a group, there is no way for me to know you.

I know some of you are going to have your National Exam. I pray for you and wish you the best.
When I was your age. I was the same as you.. I worked for everything I needed and wanted.
I never gave up. I knew if I just tried hard and never lost my hope that I would make it.

I did talk to Mr. Amos, and Mr. Paulo, they said MMM center (computer center) will be open any time. You can drop by to study the subject you are interested in from the RACHEL PI.

Everybody can be successful if they are self learners. The more knowledge you have the more successful you will be. Everything on this earth comes and goes, only an Education will be with you and nobody can take it away from you.

Swabra.
Hello,

I just want to say hello to all of you.
My name is Judy Severson.
My son Matthew Severson began The School Fund (TSF) in 2009 when he was at University.
After he graduated from University, he started to work full time. It was then that he asked me to help TSF in Tanzania.

We were really lucky to get help from the Chairman and President Mr. Fuad, the Chief Operation Officer Mr. Amos in Iringa, our local representative Mr. Paulo in Karatu and
all the local headmaster/headmistress and teachers. Without their help we will not be able to support all the TSF students in Tanzania.
I thank all of them very much for all of their support.

I am very glad we are able to help to pay much of your school fees, so you can continue your education. Keep up the good work! I hope one day you can reach your dream.

I brought RACHEL-PI systems for all the schools and I hope that you use them to help you study. The content on RACHEL-PI can provide a lot of additional information for you to learn.
I hope your new semester is successful and joyful.

With my best wishes,
Judy

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
