About

Michael is the first born in a family of three. His sterling performance in Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) earned him a spot at a top boy's provincial school in Nairobi county. High school education being very expensive in Kenya, his father, the sole bread winner of the house finds it very hard to make ends meet since the second born child is also in a top girls provincial school, at times, he says that he might end up only supporting one of the two trough high school. Supporting Michael will definitely keep his sister too in school.

Hello Barbara C.,
Am so glad that my dreams of clearing high school are almost coming true. Thank you for the support. We are doing our final lap this year and you can imagine how much this means to me. I will give it my best and I will make you proud. Thank you so much.
Hey Ivan,
Of course I do like pancakes. However, we rarely make them. We prefer "chapati", a delicacy that originally emanated from India. Even the name sounds Indian.
I am glad to hear that you are in the school play. I am in my last year in high school and am making all the preparations necessary to help me pass my exams which are coming in October. This exam will determine the course I will pursue at the university For this reason, I have suspended all my involvement in extra-curricular activities. Keep up the good work you are doing in the drama and I wish you the best of luck..... and congratulations for the effort you made in Biology. Schools are closing soon and I hope to have a wonderful break in April. I will update you on how things will be.
Congratulations! You are now fully funded for school.
Hi Michael,

How are you doing? We never asked you if you like pancakes? I'm in the school play and I remember you like drama (Kon). I got a 100 on my biology test and I am so glad it is the week-end.

Ivan and Kon
Hi Michael,

It's always fun to hear what you are doing. It's ok whenever you have time so don't worry. School has started already and I am getting busier than I want to be already and I don't check email too much.

You helped my brother and I think about what to do and to figure out a solution fast. We didn't know then my mom reminded us how everyone was saying there are not enough places to go for a comfy breakfast on the week-ends. Then we had to think of what to make that would be easy and taste good. It worked better than we expected and now we know whatever happens in we can pay for what we need to. Bye for now
Dear Ivan and Konstantin,
I have just read what you did for me on babble and I want to tell you that i really appreciate what you have been doing and I promise I won't disappoint you.I even read about the deaf Ghanaian who you helped in his education.See you soon
Dear Ivan

My plans for the summer include finishing my holiday assignment and doing a couple of exercises to keep fit.I am reading ahead of our teacher nowadays to do better come next term. The library isn't very far from our home.
Bye
Hi Ivan and Konstantin
This term has been very long for me with several activities.I read many novels such as :"Twilight,Eragon , Diary of a wimpy kid " and many others that I cant remember. Our library doesn't have as much computers but are still effective. In a solo verse you perform by yourself.I didn't perform in the verse but a friend did.You can just send me the links because I can download them in our school's computer lab.My family is okay and I hope your family is also fine.
That is all I wanted to share with you.

Bye,
Michael
I closed for my holiday on 7th August and i am sorry for not replying on time and i hope you will forgive me
Michael,
Sorry, I replied before I read your post. Oops. I will have to look for one of your schools plays on you-tube. I like drama too. I selected it as an elective for next year. Is solo verse where you perform a play all by yourself? I learned to recite some verses from Shakespeare in school. It was easier once I understood what the old english verses were referring to. What did you perform in verse?

I will look up your school and Kibera so I know more next time. It's good you and your friends are working to make change. I hope the people in town are also helping. It must be hard. I am glad your library is close. Does the library have a computer or kindle to download books? If they do, I can have my mom give you some links on where to get e-books.

Konstantin and I hope your family are doing well too.

Bye,
Hi Michael,
What's are your plans for the summer? Where do you get your books, from your library? Is it far from your house?
We are going to visit some friends now that school is out. Yay! But I still read a lot in the summer. It's more fun to read during vacation because I don't have homework :-).
Ivan
We hope all is well with your family. This is the last week of school for us. We are both looking forward to summer and playing with our friends. Today I had a class picnic with our teacher. I hope to go swimming this summer.

Your friends,
Ivan and Konstantin
Hi Ivan and Konstantin,
My school is close to the Nairobi Central Business District. It is a relatively old (51 years old) school compared to the neighboring schools. We are quite famous because we have one of the best drama teams in the country. We are the reigning champions in solo verse performances at the national level.
I live in Kibera, in Nairobi City, Kenya. Kibera is one of the largest slums in Kenya and by extension Sub-Saharan Africa. It has had a bad reputation in the past but we (our generation) is working hard towards changing this. I like reading so much. We have a community Library in the neighborhood and I spend much of my time reading there.
Me and my family we are doing well and are really happy.
Pass my regards to your family.

Best.
Michael.
Hi Michael,

What is your school like? My school has 1,000 kids. What is it like where you live? What do you do on week-ends?

Northern California has a lot of forests, both deciduous and pine trees. We are lucky to have a ocean, rivers and a big lake named Tahoe.

We like to ride our bikes and they are handy to get to school faster. We are looking forward to the end of school. There are a lot of fun activities the last few days of school. It's also cheerful that the days are really sunny and longer. Our school starts in the middle of August and ends in May. What is your school cycle?

Today I started reading "Game of Thrones." It is about five kings and they are all trying to take each other's power. I like the medieval setting (Ivan).

I am reading "Spirit Animals". It is about defeating the conquerers and saving the world of "Eardas".

I hope you and your family are well and happy.

Bye,
Ivan and Konstantin
Hi Michael,

We are happy to hear your news and glad that you are doing well. Your happiness comes across in your letter. I like fantasy and non-fiction books. I recently read "Rangers Apprentice" by John Flanagan. I liked how creative the story was. I will write more later.

Ivan

Hi Michael,

It is a piece of cake for me too, so far it is anyway :-). It is getting warm where we live and the days are getting longer. I like that because I can play with my friends more and spend time drawing.

I'll write more later.

Bye,
Konstantin

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
