About

Patrick became an orphan following his father's death in May of 2011. His mother passed away in 2001, and he and his six siblings currently live alone in a house that is a walking distance from Highway Academy. When he is not studying to become an engineer, he can be found playing football with friends. He is an extremely lively and passionate boy who loves to dedicate himself fully to his work. He hopes to one day study at the University of Nairobi.

I would like to thank the Wema community for supporting me through my high school education. I have been provided with sufficient reading material and a conducive environment for study.

I love playing football and volleyball. I also like reading novels.

I would love to be a lawyer in future as I am really good in my humanities and languages. I am prepared to continue putting in the work required in order to realize my dream and hope for your continued support during this course.
Dear Patrick -- We hope your studies in engineering are going well! Alex and Caroline are looking forward to seeing you and the other students at Wema! Happy New Year! Rachel and Bart Breinin
Hi Zaleski, Stevie and Melinda,
Here at school I am going on well with my studies. I belief that come next year, I will score high grades in my K.C.S.E. I thank WEMA and The School Fund for their support .
In Chemistry, I like Oxygen element; It supports life.
I wish you all the best.
Yours faithfully,
Wafula Patrick.
Hi Patrick,
I also hope that you pass your exam with flying colors! Do you have a favorite element on the periodic table? I have a shirt that has the periodic table on it, so when I wear it I can look down and see all of the elements. I don't think I have a favorite element, although I like the name: unununium.

I am happy to hear that you were not affected by the flooding. I hope that you continue to have good weather. Good luck in school this term.

All the best,
Christi
Hi again, I am Patrick Wafula. I am in Form III class. I’m very happy for this privilege of being sponsored. I am going on well and I hope that I will pass my exams with flying colors. I like Chemistry and Physics. In Chemistry I like the periodic table and in Physics I like magnetism. In Kenya we had elections and I was very happy that they were peaceful. Right now the climate is not so bad but there is a lot of rainfall which is causing floods in some places. I’m happy because I was not affected with this catastrophe.
I would like to appreciate The School Fund and Wema for all the sacrifices for their support. My studies were almost coming to a sudden halt but survived the because of Wema and The School Fund. I am doing well and feel I should strive more to attain the best grades in 2014 final Examination so that I join university and change my life and the life of those who need support.

Love you all

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
