Graduating from Lugalo Secondary School in 2013, Ziada has a smile that could melt even the coldest heart. She is restricted to a wheelchair yet her dreams are large. Eventually, Ziada wants to contribute to the fight for women's rights. She hopes to utilize her education to help others in the world.

Hello Jonathan!!!!!.
You are among of my friends who tried to take a courage to me in my long journey as way to reach my coming future dream.
Honestly i real thank you for your encouragement to me.And in my side i study hardy as much as i can since to me it is a last time to study a secondary level of our education system and i expect on 2,may this year i will be in a national examination will made me to join with another level of education that is university level of education.
But from now i tried to use much time to keep in studying in to prepare on the coming exams.I do that to made wonderful results later on and always i believe that:''Proper preparation prevent poor performance'' in the future.That's all about me this year at school.

Happy new year too!!!!,
I'm happy to see your journal and you desire to hear that how i spent my long break long holiday with my family,friends,activities and thought .Frankly when i was in long holiday i was greatly happy to use my time to share various issues with my family and my relatives because on that time it was a time for me to meet with my relatives and friends,of course i was so happy to see them were fine and what i think about them is that they are lucky to live with happier life without any problems.
Not only that but also when i was at long holiday i met my fellow student from other school to whom we decided to form a group discussion that will help us to exchange different ideas from my fellows and this discussion was conducted from morning up to the afternoon.
Of course during our session of our discussion i learnt a lot of things that's in one way or another helped to reach my goals and also i was proud of with our discussion since it made me to think truly that,''A beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you''.That's all about my long holiday i did and i believe one day my dream will become true.

Welcome to TSFTZ family!

My name is Jenny Chen, I am a retired software engineer. I work for TSFTZ as a volunteer staff. In 1976 I came to United States from Taiwan to study Math. I live in San Francisco area most of the time with my grownup children close by. However I travel back to Taiwan very often since most of my family members are still there.

Education helps me achieve my current good living standard. I echo TSF’s motto: “Education is an investment in the future”. Our team is devoted to help school-aged children stay in school, especially girls’ education. We encourage our students to write to us so we get to know each other better. We read each journal entry enthusiastically and response accordingly because we CARE.

TSFTZ team expects each sponsored student study hard and be successful! It is my privilege to write to you. I am looking forward to work with you.

it is ziada kayanda from Lugalo secondary school. Today i would like to share with you the wonderful that happened at our school last week during game and sports day . There was a great match of students vs teachers. the students created every kind of jokes to their opponents and worse enough they sung many discouraging songs during the match. Unfortunately one of the teacher's player scored a good goal before second one to score the last goal that put the students noise and jokes silent. for sure it was very wonderful day to happen at our school.

Today I want to share with you about research.
Research is a systematic and scientific method of study involving observation,recording,analysis and interpretation of various geographical phenomena and how to relate them in a specific area.
Research can be categorized into several types, that are;
-Basic research
-Evaluative research
-Applied research
-Analytical research
-Qualitative research
-Quantitative research
-Conceptual research and
-Emperical research.
Research can be done with an aim to an individual person or group of people and you do a research about anything without any objective,forexample one's can do research in order to;
-Develop theories about a certain socio-economic phenomena.
-Find out a solution of a problem.
-Prove things or issue scientific things.
-Develop new knowledge and,
-make evaluation of a certain issue.
Generally,research that is conducted by most of the people,particulary students is mainly for developing our knowledge.

As my parents always told me that the major portion of a student's job is to study. I told my children the same thing. As long as the school is in session, studying and preparing for test are always the most important activities. I hope you put a lot of effort in each and every subject. When you study, you study hard. And when you play, you play hard too. Promise me to play hard during the long holiday period.

Dear Jenny,
I'm happy again to see your journal,
And you told me until December you will go back to San Francisco to celebrate Christmas with your family,of course wish you all the best on that day.
Frankly in my nowadays i'm in the preparation of mock examination because in our regional until 16 November we expect to start such kind of exam.And when we will finish it like wise we will be back home with my fellow students for a long holiday about one month.
But i think you may ask yourself why are we spend a long holiday?.Like wise with you we spend this so as to celebrate a new year and Christmas day,but i will be back to school again until January.

Dear Ziada,
Moon Festival falls on the 15th of August in Lunar calendar, it is an official holiday. It has a historical revolution story behinds it. Secret messages were stuffed in cakes and passed around. That's why we still eat moon cakes on this day. However today we celebrate it is because that date is always full moon, and rounded moon symbols reunion.
If you are interested in this topic, do a search of Moon Festival when you have a chance to use Rachel PI system. You will get more information about it.

It is nice to see most of you already went to the computer center to update your journal. I know all of you had a great break. It is already half way on in your second semester. Two more months before this school year is going to end. I wish you all to try your best. I know you all can do it.

In your summer assignment you wrote that you will study hard so you could reach your dream. It is true that your future is in your own hands, and your own destination is how you are going to work on your goals and reach them. People could recommend that you do some things and they can help you in some way, but you are the only person that can make the your dream come true. Any step you take, you are one step close to your dream. I want to see you all work hard to reach your next destination.

As the people who fund your education we want to know you. The only way we have to know you are through your journals.

Please write in your journal, so that we can know you better. You can write about your daily life, your school, your friends, what subjects you are studying now. What is your favorite subject and why do you like it, and so on. We want to know your hopes and dreams. Or write us anything at all that you want us to know about.

I want you all to be outstanding people in my mind, each of you separate and special. If you are just a name in a group, there is no way for me to know you.

I know some of you are going to have your National Exam. I pray for you and wish you the best.
When I was your age. I was the same as you.. I worked for everything I needed and wanted.
I never gave up. I knew if I just tried hard and never lost my hope that I would make it.

I did talk to Mr. Amos, and Mr. Paulo, they said MMM center (computer center) will be open any time. You can drop by to study the subject you are interested in from the RACHEL PI.

Everybody can be successful if they are self learners. The more knowledge you have the more successful you will be. Everything on this earth comes and goes, only an Education will be with you and nobody can take it away from you.

    I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

    Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

    Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
