Hello Elizabeth
You know, where I live, the sky is so light because of the city lights that I can't see stars. When I go to the mountains in California, then I can see many stars. I saw constellations named Libra, and Scorpio last week.
Can you find constellations on rachel pi?
I think of you all often, and hope you have settled into your studies now, and are enjoying school.
Our summer is almost over. The days are still sunny, but not as hot, and the nights are cooler.
I have rented my house to another family for a month, and will live in San Francisco for that time.
I lived in San Francisco when I was a little older than you, and now I want to see it again. I want to walk all over the city with my camera, wander and photograph what I see. That, to me, is heaven.

I hope you like your teachers and classmates and are inspired to study hard. I’d love to hear who are your favorite teachers, and why, and what are your favorite subjects. It would be fun to hear who are the famous people who inspire you to do your best.

Looking forward to hearing from you in your journals. Susan Bradley

Hello,
Time has gone by so quickly! This is your last semester of O-level school and you will be taking the national exam very soon. I wish that you all could pass the national exam with scores in division I or division II, so that you can continue your education at the A-level and achieve your dreams. You still have two to three months before the exam so please work hard, try your best, and never give up. Your success means a lot to me and has given me strength and courage to continue to support students like you.
Hello,

How have you been? As another school year comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on another successful academic year.
For fun, I’d like to share with you some interesting facts about a country that I visited with my family recently and liked it very much.
This nation is a mountainous island called Iceland located in the North-Atlantic ocean close by the Arctic Ocean. The name Iceland may not be all that appropriate because although 10% of Iceland is covered by glaciers, it has a surprisingly mild climate and countless geothermal hot-spots and hot springs. It was one of the last places on earth to be settled my humans. There are some fun facts about this country that I thought you might find amusing:
1) Iceland’s revenue from whale watching from tourists exceeds any income from whaling.
2) Mosquitoes do not exist in Iceland. For this reason alone, I love this country :)
3) The Icelandic police don’t carry guns. Crime in Iceland is very low and violent crime is practically nonexistent.
4) Because the country is so safe, they have not had to build more jails in years. As a result there is a waiting list up to 3 months to be admit to jail :)
5) Around 85% of Iceland's electricity and heating comes from hydroelectric power and geothermal water.
6) They are very proud to be the “greenest” country in the world with virtually no pollution.

I hope you will use Rachel-Pi to check out this country and their images.
Have a wonderful summer!

Jonathan Gilbert
Hello everyone! My name is Christina and I am so excited to write to you all. I am 19 years old and I am from California. I will be starting my second year of college soon in Ohio, and I am studying biology. I hope to become a doctor in the future, like many of you. I enjoy cooking and baking foods, playing volleyball, and creating artwork. I would love to hear back from you and learn more about you. I hope you are all doing well!
Hello All,

Welcome back! Hope you had great winter break. If you had any exciting and special experience during your break, write to us. We would love to hear from you.
Mean while I wish you have a great semester. Do you best. I would like to see you make better grade this semester then last semester.
Hi again, Elizabeth
How are you? I guess you have finished your examination by now. I hope you are satisfied with your grades. I know how hard you have been working at school.

During your school break, what do you do? I would be very interested to hear about how you spend your time out of school.

During the summer here in California, while the weather is warm, there are many free music concerts. I went to one in San Francisco last Sunday. There were 1,000’s of people in Stern Grove park, and the band Funkadelia played very funky music, and danced on stage in costume. The audience danced with the music, though they were squeezed together tightly. I enjoyed it all so much.

I’ve been working in my garden, and I will send you a photo of my efforts next time.
Have a great new semester!
Susan
Hello,
My name is Sunny and I am a new community outreach volunteer to The School Fund and I will be assisting Judy with all the students in your school. I have known this organization since its inception and have helped the founder, Matt, and his team with many events to introduce their good work to the community, both locally and world-wide. I am excited to participate in the organization and fulfill my desire to communicate and work directly with the students. Please feel free to send me a note to get to know each other and to share some stories and some school and life experiences. I look forward to hearing from you. Take good care.

Hi Elizabeth.
You ask the most interesting questions! I have NO idea how they take pictures from another planet. Do you mean the photos you have seen of the Earth from Outer Space? They must have wonderful cameras.
I don't think people can live on other planets now. They need water to live, grow crops, have oxygen. I don't know which planets have water. Do you?
Thanks for writing, Elizabeth. I so enjoy your letters and your questions.
Your Friend, Susan

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
