About

When I was young, it was hard to study because my mom was unable to pay my school fees on time and give me schoolbooks and supplies. Then I got a sickness that made me unhappy, weak, and too disabled to attend school. My mom did not have enough money to take me the hospital but she asked a neighbor to help me. I am grateful that I recovered. When I grow up, I want to be a doctor. To win that goal, I’ll study hard and search for different materials from books, the internet, and teachers, as well as trusting myself that I will succeed. I am proud of myself. It was awesome to hear that I passed my Form 4 examination. A happy moment in my life was when I was selected as a TSF member. My mom, my younger brother and sisters and I celebrated together when I got that chance. Two years from now I graduate Advanced level education, then I proceed with university so as to reach my goals.

Hi Students

How are you? Did you enjoy your break?

My husband and I just came back from a trip to the Antartica. It was a long trip, 22 days total. We first flew to Buenos Aries, the capital city of Argentina. After spending two days there, we flew down to the Ushuaia, the tip of the South America continent to board a ship. The ship took us to the Falkland Island, the South Georgia Island and the Antartica Peninsula. This is the summer season there. The ice started to break up to allow the ship to sail there. The temperature was around 1 degree Celsius, not bad at all. Most days were sunny. We saw so many penguins, seals and sea birds. They were all having babies. The babies were cute beyond descriptions. Their parents were busy feeding them. You would be touched by how tentative the parents were towards their babies. The scenery was so beautiful. I hope you can go to the internet to check out this region. With the threat of globe warming, I am a bit worried about how long the Antartica continent will hold. Recently from the news report, a large chunk of ice actually broke off from the continent. Sad, isn't?

Ok, enough of my trip report.

Please write back to me.

Until next time,
Indy

Dear Students,

Happy New Year 2017, congratulations on preparing for your exams and welcome back to school !

Here is a thought to begin the year on;

"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives".

Henry David Thoreau

be well,
Karen

Hello Diana, i bet you are happy your big exams are over and school is out!
The vegetable garden you talk about sounds wonderful! Many people do that in America . . .i hope it becomes a thriving business for you and you are successful doing what you love.
Its Thanksgiving Day here in America and we celebrate by giving thanks to our family and friends. I am thankful that we are friends, even at a distance! Thank you for writing in your journal and studying so hard to achieve what you want . . . It makes it worth all the work that it took to create The School Fund and keep it going all these years! Hello Diana
I would like to share to you about more information about radio waves.
Radio waves are a type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum longer than infrared light. Radio waves have frequencies as high as 300 GHz to as low as 3 kHz, though some definitions describe waves above 1 or 3 GHz as microwaves, or include waves of any lower frequency. At 300 GHz, the corresponding wavelength is 1 mm (0.039 in), and at 3 kHz is 100 km (62 mi). Like all other electromagnetic waves, they travel at the speed of light. Naturally occurring radio waves are generated by lightning, or by astronomical objects.

Artificially generated radio waves are used for fixed and mobile radio communication, broadcasting, radar and other navigation systems, communications satellites, computer networks and innumerable other applications. Radio waves are generated by radio transmitters and received by radio receivers. Different frequencies of radio waves have different propagation characteristics in the Earth's atmosphere; long waves can diffract around obstacles like mountains and follow the contour of the earth (ground waves), shorter waves can reflect off the ionosphere and return to earth beyond the horizon (skywaves), while much shorter wavelengths bend or diffract very little and travel on a line of sight, so their propagation distances are limited to the visual horizon.

To prevent interference between different users, the artificial generation and use of radio waves is strictly regulated by law, coordinated by an international body called the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), which defines radio waves as "electromagnetic waves of frequencies arbitrarily lower than 3 000 GHz, propagated in space without artificial guide.
THANKS.
Dear Diana,
Thank you for your greeting, I am doing okay just got a little busier because I need to spend time take care of my mother. My aged mother had a fall and hurt her spine. She is recovering but slowly.
Yes, America was British colony. We are lucky in deed to be born in democratic country where human rights are respected. We can decide what we want to do and dream big!
You must be really busy preparing your exams. Wish you the best!

An Italian scientist Marcon developed radio communication. In 1895, just seven years after the discovery of Radio waves by Heinrich hertz, Marconi succeeded in transmitting a radio message in Morse code.
Thanks and have a nice week.
GOD BLESS YOU.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
