About
Class Rank 89 out of 250
Fred lost his mother when he was two years old [that is what he was told]. He doesn't know his father.
He was born in Tunduma - MBEYA region. As a result of his mother's death he became a "street boy" with no definite place or home to live. When he turned around seven years of age he came to Iringa region trying to look for his father without success. Fortunately one day he was picked up by a lady [Fred calls her aunt] who volunteers to take care of him. This lady is a small scale peasant whose income cannot cover Fred's school fees. As a result Fred is forced to work in other people's farms, gardens or feeding cows and goats during the school day so as to get some money for his school fees.
Fred believes that "education is the only weapon that can help him to have a decent life."
