I am the first born of seven children. I live with my aunt here in Nairobi. My parents are in the countryside and I came to Nairobi to search for a better education. Where I come from, not so many people take education very seriously. In fact, most girls get married at a very tender age. My sister and I were lucky to come and live in the city with our aunt. My aunt is so passionate about education. She does not earn much from her small business but really struggles to see we get a better education. She was able to secure me a scholarship during my time in primary school, but this ended when I graduated to high school. I am smart, compassionate and polite. I hope these three characters will help me be a good lawyer in future.

Dear Leah,
I donated some money to your fund last night. I am a retired music teacher. I play the viola and still teach one course at our local university and play in the Symphony. My husband and I have a son who is grown up and lives far away with his wife. We live in a small city in the very southern part of the United States, near the border with Mexico.
My son decided he wanted to be a lawyer after he finished college. Much to our surprise, he succeeded and is now opening his own law practice. It took him about five years. One year to study for the entrance exams, three years for the school itself and one year to take the Bar Exam and be admitted to the Bar. He is specializing in helping old people with wills and such things. In our country there is a great need for this.
I think he got interested in the Law by realizing that he was good at video games and could think through the rules and figure out how to beat the games by using the rules to his advantage.

I was wondering how many more years of schooling you need to complete the requirements to become a lawyer?

Hi Leah!
My name is Leigh Ann, I'm a physical therapist who lives in California. Do you have physical therapists in Kenya? I hope that you are doing well, what is the weather like in Kenya? It's starting to get a little cold here in California, I'm hoping that it will not start to snow soon.

I also come from a family with many sisters and only one brother, he's the youngest. Do you get to see your siblings often? I have one sister who lives near me in California, but my older sister lives in Colorado and my parents and brother live in Pennsylvania. (We're scattered across the country) Anyway, feel free to tell me about yourself :)

Dear Everyone,
It has been a wonderful year with best moments both in school and at home. I can't hide my being part of this amazing group who have ensured that I stay in school and pursue my goals. This my second last year in school and I hope to come out with a meaningful performance in the next 18 months.
I learn at a school which was started by Friends Churches. It is an old school and used to be an academic powerhouse. However, this changed and for the past few years our school has been struggling. We are in the process or reviving the past glory and we hope to go down memory lane as the team that revived the sleeping giant.
I work hard in school everyday to make sure I see my dreams come true.

    Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

    Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

    The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
