Dear student,
It has been very long time since last time I wrote to you. I have been out of town attending conferences, doing business and helping with family issues.
I know the new school year began two months ago and I hope you are able to focus on your studies and set goals for yourself. I hope you are doing well this school year.
In your journals I would like to see you are learning, what you like and dislike about the school, your accomplishments, your difficulties your life and your obstacles you face.
I want you to evaluate yourself, what is your strength and weakness, which area do you need to improve yourself. That way I could know who you are and help me to know you better. I wish you have a great year ahead of you and let me know there are anything you need me to help.

Dear Students

In my last letter to you, I asked what you knew about globalization. I got some very interesting answers. Many of you have thought about globalization’s impact on Tanzanian culture and economics, and could name both positive and negative aspects.

I was very impressed with your letters.

I guess you are facing mid term exams soon. I know you are studying very hard, and I hope you all do very well.

Wiseman, how wonderful to visit Lake Manyara National Park!

Anna Martin and others: your definition of commerce was so good.
Deusi and others: Small scale farming seems to have many positive and some negative aspects.

I’m learning a lot from your studies! Keep passing the knowledge on to me!

Susan

Dear Students

It has been a long time since I wrote to you. I think I wrote to you last before your long vacation.
I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Now you are back in school, and studying hard again.

In the United States, we are being challenged by a new government that has different goals than we have been used to.
One of you asked about “Globalization” and how it affects Tanzania.
That is a good question, and one that we need to all understand. I am just learning about it myself.

I am from California and we’ve been in a drought for 3-4 years. Then this year it started to rain. We have had so much rain in the last month that the drought is over, but the floods have been damaging. Crazy time.

Keep studying hard. You know that focussing on your goals and dreams will help you reach them. We at the School Fund are so proud of you, and we wish you the best.
Hello Honesta,

Thank you for writing, I am happy you are well and doing well in your studies at school.

I have been busy this winter recovering from a hip replacement surgery, and working to become more actively political in our American democracy.

Also I am back at work after the surgery so I am keeping busy.

Here in California it has been raining a lot, a lot! in the past few months, we are so used to a dry weather drought no one knows what to do with themselves. Also there is so much water was are having issues like leaking dams, and mudslides. I am sending an image of the Oroville California dam, which flooded, and 100,000 people had to evacuate.

So it has been a wild winter.
be well,
Karen

Dear Students,

Happy New Year 2017, congratulations on preparing for your exams and welcome back to school !

Here is a thought to begin the year on;

"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives".

Henry David Thoreau

be well,
Karen

My dear student,
This school year went by so quickly. I just like to say hello to every one. Wish you have great break and wonderful holidays. Remember read your favor books during the break too. Think what is you would like to accomplish for you next school year? How are going to get there? Use this break to prepare yourself. I wish all of you had great future ahead of you. You have to work hard to get there.
In US we had Thanksgiving, now every body prepare for Christmas then will be New Year.

Dear Honesta,
Very happy to know that you are doing fine. I read about your learning of many stages of meiosis. This is one of the many topics you need to do well in order to become a doctor as you wish. It appears you like the topic, that is one of the driving force of learning. When you like a subject, you will spend more time study. And the more you study, the better you learn. I hope your interests are diversified, then you will do great with many subjects.
Thank you for sharing your understanding of many types of survey. It is a mathematical way to use samples to predict possible outcome. I wonder if you have heard about the result of November 8th American president election. The highly projected victory of Demonstrate candidate ended up lost. The result shows that survey still has its short coming, it is not 100% accurate.
Wish you the best with your learning and beautiful report card!

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
