About

I was in the first position in my class of 40 students. I'm raised by my mother. My father left when I was young. I have experienced a lot like being chased out of class due to school fees. I live with my mother, grandmother, and brother. My mother has a shop at our house. My dream is to be a doctor. Education will help me to achieve my dream and help others by saving their lives when they are sick.

I am a doctor and read that you want to be a doctor too. To accomplish that, you need to study very hard, determination
perseverance, and most important of all, COMPASSION. There is nothing more rewarding and meaningful than to make a
difference in someone's life. Good Luck and keep me updated on your studies. Dr. Mak
Hello,

I just want to say hello to all of you.
My name is Judy Severson.
My son Matthew Severson began The School Fund (TSF) in 2009 when he was at University.
After he graduated from University, he started to work full time. It was then that he asked me to help TSF in Tanzania.

We were really lucky to get help from the Chairman and President Mr. Fuad, the Chief Operation Officer Mr. Amos in Iringa, our local representative Mr. Paulo in Karatu and
all the local headmaster/headmistress and teachers. Without their help we will not be able to support all the TSF students in Tanzania.
I thank all of them very much for all of their support.

I am very glad we are able to help to pay much of your school fees, so you can continue your education. Keep up the good work! I hope one day you can reach your dream.

I brought RACHEL-PI systems for all the schools and I hope that you use them to help you study. The content on RACHEL-PI can provide a lot of additional information for you to learn.
I hope your new semester is successful and joyful.

With my best wishes,
Judy

Hi Aaron,Seb,Grace and Solange.
An interesting person in our country is our first president Julius Kambalage Nyelele because he fought for the independence of Tanzania and also brought the union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar to become Tanzania . And the story which i like is called Great Expectation by Charles Dickens its a wonderful story i will also try to read the books you recommended .Yes we do have a serious test approaching .

Hi Raina!
It’s us again, Aaron, Seb Grace and Solange!
How have you been recently? We’ve been pretty good (except for the homework and the standardized tests coming)! Anyway, we have done a lot since last communicated with you.
One being We a biography project on really interesting people that have made a change in the world/community. Aaron chose Jackie Robinson, Seb chose Nelson Mandela, Grace chose Amelia Earhart and Solange chose Maya Angelou. What we did was find a lot of information about our people from books and articles. Lastly, we wrote a biography on them and made a Keynote. Jackie Robinson was important because he was the first African-American baseball player and he broke down the color barrier for baseball. Maya Angelou is a famous poet that wrote about black history, and sadly she died last year at 86. Nelson Mandela was important because he led the apartheid movement for better civil rights in South Africa, but also influenced Martin Luther King Jr, and he sacrificed he live many times for the improvement of others. Sadly, Nelson Mandela passed away on December, 5th 2013. Amelia Earhart was born on July 24,1897
So far this year we have been reading so many amazing books. Solange’s favorite book (or series) are the Divergent series! This book falls in the category of a dystopian series. They totally rock! We think that you should read them. Aaron’s favorite book is The Maze Runner! It is a great book about a boy named Thomas who helps people called the gladers attempt to escape from the glade. If you have not read this book, I highly recommend it! Seb’s favorite book is by far Crossover by Kwame Alexander. It is about a boy named Joshua and his basketball life, and it is written entirely in free verse. I would definitely recommend it if you have not read it!
Also, on May 1st (this Friday) (9 days before Solange’s birthday yay!) we have standardized tests, or as we call them, ERB’S. (Educational Records Bureau) Do you have any big tests coming up or that have already past? We also just had math tests. So scary! We have also been receiving an incredible amount of Homework, sometimes fun sometimes not, or as you say in spanish, tarea. Every single person has a language, unless they are doing english workshop. The languages consist of Spanish ( Aaron and Seb’s language), Latin, Mandarin and French (Grace and Solange’s language).
Earlier this year as you know, we were studying Mesopotamia. After we came back from our spring break we have been introduced to Ancient Egypt. Did you know that the first king to actually have a pyramid built for him was King Djoser of the Old Kingdom? Imhotep, King Djoser’s architect built the first step pyramid and continued to work on it until Djoser died
We look forward to seeing you face to face you!

Hello Raina,

It’s great to hear from you. How was your exam and how is life in Iringa?
It has been almost 2 years since my last visit. I miss your beautiful country and its nice people. As for me, I will be graduating in high school on June 5th – five more weeks to go!
In September, I will be heading to college. I am very excited and looking forward to this transition in my life from high school to college.
Hope all is well with you. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Your friend,
Jonathan
Hi Every one!
Today i am going to tell you what i know about Algebra.
Algebraic Equation
An equation is a statement of equality. It connects two expression with the equal sign.
Example 2x=16
That is an equation in which 2x is related to 16 using an equal sign "="
There for an equation has two equal sides.

Also an equation expresses a statement or a problem in a clear and short way.
Example;
To find a number which when multiplied by two gives sixteen .It is the same as to find x in 2x=16.

Solving equation
To solve an equation means to find the value of the unknown in the equation.
example
3x-5=7
3x=7+5
3x=12
x=4
That is what i have for today.
YOUR FRIEND RAINA.
Hello Raina,

I saw a Korean television series and I really liked it! The title of the series is "Moon Embracing the Sun". The characters were interesting, and I read that the series was filmed in an old Korean royal palace.

It turns out that I did not know that I sent a picture of the star of that show to you when I mailed it to you.

When are your mid term exams?

Have a good week, I am sending a photo of the palace where the series was filmed.

    I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

    Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

    Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
